was seconded by Warren Franklin and unanimously carried.

The next item to come before the board was the rezoning petition
of Myron Westenhofer on Bridge Street. The board's attorney advised
that the newspaper notice of meeting was on the wrong date and had
advised the petitioner. This petition will be brought up at the
next meeting.
The next item on the agenda was the unsafe building ordinance
alleged violation at One West Main Street on the property owned by
Frank and Mary Lowry. Mrs. Lowry was present with Tom Ferguson,
a registered architect. The board's attorney advised that he had
a conflict of interest on this matter and the board then proceeded
to a discussion. In particular, Mr. Ferguson advised that there
were actually two buildings that they were going to remodel to
comply with the State Uniform Building Code. He had the superintendent
of the job present and advised that he had met with Mr. Beikman
earlier that day and had been working on the roof that week. It was
their intent to drain the water off of the roof and under the sidewalks
to drains. He advised that the building was now secured and that
the first item that they intended to repair was the roof. William
Abbott then requested a recommendation from the building inspector,
Mr. Beikman. Mr. Beikman advised that he'd been on site and
stressed that he wanted the work done immediately. Mr. Ferguson
advised that they expected to have the roof repair work done
within the week. Mr. Beikman also advised that he felt more
comfortable about the fire situation and the building being secured.
Vernon Kimmel then inquired when the work should be completed and
Mr. Ferguson advised sixty to ninety days. William Abbott then
---
made a motion that this matter be tabled for thirty days and that
it be re-evaluated on that date and time upon a recommendation

'-

----

-2-
