Mr. David E. Lawson, attorney for the Board, was present.

In the absence of the Recording Secretary, Mr. Steve Edwards was
requested by the President to take notes of the meeting as Acting
Secretary.

The minutes of the past meeting were read by President Farmer, and
unanimously approved.

Mr. Lawson reported to the Board concerning the two letters which he
had written to alleged violators of the Zoning Ordinance, the same
being Mr. Robert Heath, who operates a business at the old Kindrick
Hospital; and to Mr. John Wissner, owner and Mr. James Bruner, lessee
~ of the real estate at 18 West Harrison Street. Mr. "Lawson reported
that Mr. Heath had called and by reason of being out of town, could
not be at the meeting in April. He was requested, and indicated his
willingness,to appear at the next meeting on Thursday, May 27, 1976.
Mr. Lawson is to confirm this with Mr. Heath.

Mr. Lawson indicated he had received a telephone call from Attorney
Tim Currens who represents Mr. John Wissner. The conversation that
was related indicated that Mr. Wissner did not know the activities
of the business at his property. That it was being immediately ter-
minated and the lessee was removing himself from the premises. Mr.
Currens also indicated to Mr. Lawson that a petition for a variance
in regards to garage in question, had been filed by Mr. Wissner before
the Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals, which was to come up for
hearing on May 11th. Several of the Board members indicated that they
did not believe the business had ceased, and ask Mr. Lawson to imme-
diately send a letter to Mr. Currens in regards to the apparent con-
tinued violation.

The Board then continued to work on the drafting of the new Subdivision
Control Ordinance. As additional work needs to be done on the ordin-
ance, a special meeting has been called for Tuesday, April 27th, at
7:30 p.m., at the Town Hall,

...
