,

Mr. Holloway mentioned different zonings in effect at the present time on surrounding
properties: Dr. Reyman, B-2, the attorney's office, Iacoli's car lot, and warehouses.
The existing Pollard building is zoned for heavy business. Motion was made by
Commissioner Williamson, second by Commissioner Crouch to recommend to the
Mooresville Town Council to approve a rezone for this property from Agriculture to B-2.
Motion carried 8-0. This will be heard at the April 3, 2001 Town Council meeting.

Complaint: a semi trailer advertising at south west comer of County Line and Highway
267. Currently Master Plan considers this a trailer not a sign. Commissioner Young told
the Commission he was confused because page 51 of the Town Ordinance book for a
sign definition; any outdoor structure not connected to property is advertising. Joe
Beikman cited page 13; definition of a structure-any construction or erected figure
located on the ground. Town attorney Tim Currens said we need to correct this definition
in the ordinances. Joe Beikman suggested they might also want to set a time limit for
parking oflicensed vehicles with advertising on them.

Commissioner Ehrhart told the commission there was a dumpster close to the road at the
apartments located on the north side of Highway 144. He said it gets over-full and old
furniture is set next to the dumpster. Town attorney Tim Currens told him there is
nothing in our ordinances to address this.

Joe Beikman told the commission they needed to look at churches and zoning
classifications. Commissioner Crouch asked Commissioner Young and Ehrhart if a
meeting had been set to review ordinances and master plan. Commissioner Young told
him he and Commissioner Ehrhart were meeting with former Commissioner Charles
McGuire to get information turned over to them and an update. The new committee is to
meet after this. President Beebe wants them to meet before the April plan commission
meeting if possible. The EDC Director has been asked to review also. Mr. Holloway
said he has re-formatted our ordinances and told the committee they were welcome to this
format. Commissioner Young said he had also acquired Plainfield's ordinances. He said
Mr. Holloway, Joe Beikman, and EDC Director Helen Humes were welcome to attend
the committee meeting. Commissioner Young asked town attorney Tim Currens what
happens if questions are asked at the Public Hearing that the commissioners do not know
the answers? Mr. Currens said they should answer "they will have to research further."
The committee will put a draft together for the plan commission to discuss at a plan
commission meeting before the public hearing.

Building Inspector Joe Beikman reported seventy-one (71) permits and one hundred forty
two (142) inspections.

There being no further business to come before the commission at this time,
Commissioner Young motioned to adjourn.

The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Plan Commission will be Thursday, April
26th, 2001.
