<br />." <br /> <br />Ross Holloway represented Carroll Herrin, 1560 Observatory Road, asking for a 2 lot minor plat. <br />Mr. Holloway had a vicinity map to show the location of the two lots. Mr. Herrin wanted to have <br />a family member build on the second lot. Commissioner Crouch asked about the water supply, <br />there is water available. Motion to accept the Herrin minor plat was made by Commissioner <br />Ehrhart second by Commissioner Crouch. Motion carried 9-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />Charles Harvey, 10100 North Bunker Hill Road, requested a minor plat to split the north end of <br />his property. The septic and driveway permits have been obtained. After deciding just where on <br />Bunker Hin Road the property was located and no other questions from the commission or the <br />floor, motion to approve the plat was made by Commissioner Williamson, second by <br />Commissioner Bruner. Motion carried 9-0 with none opposed <br /> <br />Ross Honoway requested an amended PUD and approval of the Detailed Site Plan for 25 acres <br />off of the East end of for Lot-4 Butler Krivoshia property at State Road 67 and Merriman Road. <br />The property was rezoned to B-3 in 1998. The amendment is for the Carter-Lee Lumber <br />Company. Mr. Holloway went on to say there would be lights at both entrances, dust-inhibitors <br />win be put on drives and any other gravel surface, it will look like a chip and seal drive. There <br />win no loading docks and the second phase win be storage buildings for the fmished product and <br />lumber. A 6xl0 foot sign will be 50 feet off of the center of State Road 67. There will be 100 <br />foot buffer on the north and south, this buffer wil1 be grass. An existing tree line win be kept <br />and the lighting will be on ground. Mr. Steve Stroder, general manager for Carter-Lee, said it <br />will be 3 to 4 years before getting to full operation of24 hours. Loading and stacking of the <br />trusses wil1 be the only things done outside. Most of the noise would be on the inside of the <br />building in the manufacturing of the product. The trucks that belong to Carter-Lee will be <br />coming and going. between the hours of6 A.M. to 10 P.M. The trucks that are bringing in <br />lumber will be arriving around 7 A.M.- 3 P. M. The dust control was discussed, Mr. Stroder said <br />that the calcium that is put on will turn into a very hard surface. He said that there wil1 be about <br />25 employees to start and no more than 85 when at a full 24 hour operation. There is not a lot of <br />customer traffic and no retail sales at all. There were several concems for property owners in <br />the area, such as noise, safety for walkers and children playing on or near Merriman Road, the <br />peacefullíving that is enjoyed at this time and the property values. Robert Ferguson of Wetzel <br />Lane said that he feels that Carter-Lee will be a very good thing for our area and is excited about <br />the project. Helen Humes, Mooresville EDC Director, said that she had spoken to a town official <br />in Rensselaer, IN, where Carter-Lee has an operation that is located in the center of the <br />downtown area. They told her that the company works extremely hard with the neighbors. <br />Commissioner Williamson motioned to deny the amended PUD, with no second the motion <br />died. Commissioner Young motioned to approve the amended PUD based on times of operation, <br />dust control, delivery hours, no trucks between 11 P.M. and 6 A.M. and the installation of 4 fIre <br />bydrants. Commissioner Crouch seconded the motion made by Commissioner Young. Motion <br />carried 8-1 with Commissioner Williamsson voting no. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bruner reported that 40 west Main had no one living there at this time. <br /> <br />Building Inspector Joe Beikman reported 29 building permits issued and 152 inspections. <br />
