<br />Mr. Pygman stated he hates 0he duplex U;itr(Q.oes notface the street on an alley, but does <br />not feel he could oppose. He said he had taM't'o the people to the west and that they did <br />not object to this project. Mr. Long said he had talked with Mr. Carlisle also, and he does <br />not object. <br /> <br />Mr. Williarnson asked if the drive for his parking was coming in off of the side alley, and <br />Mr. Long said that was correct, that people would go out and around the duplex. They <br />would not exit on to High Street. He said he feels like Mr. McGuire about the duplex <br />being build behind the office, but does not feel there is any other type of use for that area. <br />He can see if falling in line with what is in the area. <br /> <br />Mr. Young said he agreed with some of the Board members and disagreed with some of <br />the Board members. He knows the building will be kept up as far as the office was <br />concerned. He has an issue with every property coming in and trying to build a duplex <br />behind it. He could see a brick duplex could possibly be appealing. He stated that since <br />there were no neighbors here to contest the project, it was safe to assume they were for it. <br /> <br />Mr. Erhhart asked if the parking lot would be a hard surface and Mr. Long stated it would <br />be. <br /> <br />Mr. McGuire said he did not agree with Mr. Young's last statement, because that what <br />the zoning ordinance to protect them. That is what the guidelines are there for, so that <br />they do not have to show up every time. <br /> <br />(3f'11,fLW <br />Motion was made by Mr. Erhhart, second by Mr. Burner, to approve the rezone of 6,000 <br />sq. ft. Lot I from R-l to B-1 for the business. Motion carried 8-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Mr. Erhhart, second by Mr. Crouch, to approve a duplex on Lot 2, <br />which is a 10,000 sq. ft, they will enter from the alley in the back, and duplex will match <br />the brick on the house in front. This is contingent of the approval of the minor plat. <br />Motion denied, vote was 4 for, 3 opposed and I abstained. <br /> <br />Mr. Young asked for a motion on the Minor Plat and Mr. Long asked if the Minor Plat <br />was approve would the front part be zoned for business and the back lot would stay <br />residential. Mr. Currens said what he would have was a recommendation to the Town <br />Council to rezone front Lot from R-l to B-1 and the back Lot would have no <br />recommendation. He could bring it back to the Plan Commission or take it to the Town <br />Council with no recommendation. . <br /> <br />Motion was made by Mr. McGuire, to deny the two Lot Minor Plat; there was no second <br />to the motion. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Mr. Corbin, second by Mr. Crouch, to approve the two Lot Minor <br />Plat Motion carried 6-2. <br />
