MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS <br /> SEPTEMBER 17, 1998 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresville Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners met September 17, <br /> 1998 with board members Dr. Dennis Knierim, Tom Warthen and legal council Timothy C. <br /> Currens being present. The meeting was preceded with the pledge of allegiance, then called to <br /> order by Dennis Knierim. ' <br /> <br /> Tom Warthen made motion and was seconded by Dennis Knierim to approve the minutes of <br /> the last meetin~ <br /> <br /> Under Old Business, Police Chief Timothy Viles announced that Officer John Haggard has re- <br /> signed and moved on to I.P.D. He also advised the the Departmental budgets had been approved <br /> and signed. <br /> <br /> Dennis Kaierim stated that the hiriag process is continuing. <br /> <br /> Tim Vflos affirmed to Tom Warthen that he is stiff dedicating officers to the school zone in the <br /> mornings and m°mmoons, as manpower allows. <br /> <br /> Under New Business, Tom Warthen expressed concern about the street sweepers having to go a- <br />round parked cars. Tim Viles said he would get with the Street Deparlment about being notified of <br />street ¢leazfings in the north addition. <br /> <br /> Tom Warthen questioned if they need to address euforcement on the Abandoned Vehi¢le <br />Ordinance. Tim CulTO~ advised him that the ordinace abides by State Statute. <br /> <br /> Tim Ctm'ens stated that the Council is looking into putting a stop sign at Bridge St. and Maple <br />Lame, and he will be asking the Street and Police Departments to conduct a study to determine <br />the need. <br /> <br /> The next meeting will be October 15, 1998. <br /> The meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
