MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS SEPTEMBER 17, 1998 The Town of Mooresville Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners met September 17, 1998 with board members Dr. Dennis Knierim, Tom Warthen and legal council Timothy C. Currens being present. The meeting was preceded with the pledge of allegiance, then called to order by Dennis Knierim. ' Tom Warthen made motion and was seconded by Dennis Knierim to approve the minutes of the last meetin~ Under Old Business, Police Chief Timothy Viles announced that Officer John Haggard has re- signed and moved on to I.P.D. He also advised the the Departmental budgets had been approved and signed. Dennis Kaierim stated that the hiriag process is continuing. Tim Vflos affirmed to Tom Warthen that he is stiff dedicating officers to the school zone in the mornings and m°mmoons, as manpower allows. Under New Business, Tom Warthen expressed concern about the street sweepers having to go a- round parked cars. Tim Viles said he would get with the Street Deparlment about being notified of street ¢leazfings in the north addition. Tom Warthen questioned if they need to address euforcement on the Abandoned Vehi¢le Ordinance. Tim CulTO~ advised him that the ordinace abides by State Statute. Tim Ctm'ens stated that the Council is looking into putting a stop sign at Bridge St. and Maple Lame, and he will be asking the Street and Police Departments to conduct a study to determine the need. The next meeting will be October 15, 1998. The meeting was adjourned.
