MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS <br /> JANUARY 21, 1999 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresvdle Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners meeting on January <br /> 21, 1999 was called to order by Dr. Dennis Knierim. New Commissioners Dean Kays and <br /> Charles Berwick were introduced, and Tom Warthen was thanked for his previous two years of <br /> serving on the board. <br /> <br /> The minutes for December were approved as written. <br /> <br /> Under ()Id Bus~ness was the appointment of new officers. Dean Kays made motion and was <br />seconded by Charles Bernvick.[br Dennis Knierim to be Chairman. <br /> <br /> Police Chief Tim l~iles advised that lock-out procedures will be written by the next meeting. <br /> The Public SaJb(v Officer is no longer an interest. <br /> <br /> Under New Business, Dean Kays addressed the manpower situation, primarily the areas of <br />juvende and narcotics. Grant money needs to be looked at and a recommendation made to the <br />TownCouncil. <br /> <br /> Dennis Knierim commented on a statement that had been made by A! Hornaday, the Brown <br />Township Trustee, on the Police Department covering all of Brown Township. He has spoken <br />with Mr. Hornaday, and was advised that it ,vas just an idea, and not being pursued at this time. <br /> <br /> From the floor, Mark Mathis advised that the Town Council has set in motion procedures for <br />the Town to declare a Town Emergency, and possibly writing an ordinance./bt snow emergency <br />routes. Tim Currens explained that m order to declare, the Town would have to~/bilow certain <br />statutory procedures, which includes an emergency meeting by the Town Councd to pass the <br /> <br />resolution, file it with the clerk, and to notify the media. <br /> The next meeting will be February 18, 1999. <br /> The meeting ,vas adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
