MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE <br /> COMM/SSIONERS <br /> <br /> November 16, 2001 <br /> <br />Dr. Knierim welcomed everyone to the July 16* Mooresville Police Commissioners <br />meeting. In attendance were Commissioners Dean Kays, Chuck Berwick and <br />Dennis Knierim. Attorney Tim Currens was absent. Reserve officer Larry Bryant was <br />also in attendance. <br /> <br />The Board opened the meeting by saying the Pledge of Allegiance, Dr. Knierim called the <br />meeting to Order. There was no October meeting. <br /> <br />The Police Commissioners had no Old Business. <br /> <br />Under Old Business, <br /> Chief Viles discussed the in car telephones. All Mooresville Police Vehicles should <br />have telephone installed by February 2002. Chief Viles reported that he was still <br />investigating the recording device for call-in reports. He has contacted <br />Dic-a-phone and Lanier Machinery. He will have additional information at the Next <br />Board meeting (January 17, 2002). <br /> <br /> Chief Viles discussed the Anthrax policy and how the department has worked with <br />other agencies to prepare for any incident. <br /> <br />Under New Business, <br /> Commissioner Kays suggested we visit each SOP. Commissioner Knierim <br />mentioned each Commissioner look over the SOP's and discuss the SOP needing <br />revisions. <br /> The Commissioners discussed the front area of the Building and the need for lights <br />and possibly one or more Flags. Discussion was made on the landscaping of the glassy <br />area in front of the Building. <br /> <br /> Chief Viles had no additional information under new business. <br /> <br /> <br />
