FEBRUARY 21, 2002 <br /> <br /> Dr. Knierim welcomed everyone to the February 21st Mooresville Police Commissioners <br /> meeting. In attendance were; Commissioners Dean Kays, and Chuck Berwick. <br /> <br /> The board opened the meeting by saying the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> The purchase of a new flag and pole was discussed. The one that was purchased from <br /> Lowe's was returned. It was decided that a 20 ft. industrial pole is needed. Commissioner <br /> Berwick and Chief Viles will make a few calls and check prices. Also a call to the utility <br /> companies will be made before we dig. <br /> <br /> The 3 S.O.P.'s were discussed and approved. Next month 8-8.04 will be reviewed. <br /> <br /> The complaint procedure was discussed. <br /> <br /> Officer Thomas Whitley's probation period is over. <br />C Dr. Knierim congratulated Chief Viles on his nomination for the Chiefs of Police Council <br /> <br /> CHIEF VILES <br /> Chief Viles discussed the new car phones. They are all installed now and the hands free <br /> Will be added soon. <br /> <br /> The Lanier Voice Writer will be installed February 27th. Dick Leslie will be here at 10am <br /> To install. Also the new phone line for this was installed February 19th. Commissioner <br /> Kays suggested that we start out with 1 or 20~cer's per shift using the new system until <br /> We work all the bugs out. <br /> <br /> Randy Rogers is installing the equipment in the new cars. Most Officers have camera's <br /> Now. The cameras are $3400 each, purchased from Eagle Eye. <br /> <br /> Measurements have been taken for the new carpet and tile. The color has been picked <br /> Out. Paint and Wallpaper were also discussed and Dean Kays suggested painting before <br /> The new carpet is installed. <br /> <br /> Women's Safety Program-meeting Wednesday 2/27 at lpm. The program will be held in <br /> The MHS auditorium on Saturday, March 16th. Guest speakers will include; Marlene <br /> Frye, Debbie Dotson, Les Farmer, and the M.C. will be Debbie Rader from WCBK. <br />C Ways to advertise were discussed. <br /> <br /> <br />
