MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE <br /> COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> SEPTEMBER 19, 2002 <br /> <br />The meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Dr. Knierim welcomed everyone <br />to the September 19t~ Mooresville Police Commissioners Meeting. <br />In attendance were; Commissioners, Dr. Dennis Knierim, Dean Kays, Chuck <br />Berwick. Also present were Chief Tim Viles and Attorney Tim Currens. <br />Commissioner Kays motioned to accept the minutes from the August 15m meetin~ <br />Commissioner Berwick seconded. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />S.O.P. 11.0 ok <br />18.0 possibility of a change-Chief Viles will check with the Prosecutor and <br /> Judge on an issue and report back next meeting. <br /> 32 Ok <br /> <br /> There were 34 applicants who came to the testing for the 21't Police Officers <br /> position. 17 will continue on to the Physical Agility Test ,which will be on 10-5-2002. <br /> Background checks will be done after the Physical Agility Test and the In House <br /> Interviews. <br /> Dr. Knierim asked about the lockout policy of the Police Department. Chief Viles <br /> explained that if it is a life-threatening situation, or a child locked in the car, the <br /> Police Department will send an officer. Otherwise we can give them the phone <br /> number to one of our local locksmiths. <br /> The new camara's are here, however they are not installed as of today (9/19/2002). <br /> Officer Randy Rogers will be installing them, probably next week. <br /> <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Budget-The last meeting was discussed, nothing has changed from the last meeting. <br /> Salary will be discussed in the December meeting. <br /> <br /> Next month the new cars for next year will be ordered. <br /> Commissioner Kays suggested changing the salary policy for the Captain's position, <br /> from Comp Time to paying overtime. <br /> <br /> <br />
