David H. Hirschle, AICP
115 William Street
McDonald, PA 15057

April 26, 1999

Mooresville Plan Commission
c/o Mr. Joel Beebe
26 S. Indiana St.
Mooresville, IN 46518

The purpose of this letter is to request that this inquiry and the attached resume be kept on file in
the event that the Town of Mooresville anticipates the need for an additional experienced r'~
planning professional. I was a long-time resident of central Indiana and my goal is to return to my
home state in a planning capacity in order to use my abihties to benefit an area I know well.

My professional work experience provides a planning maturity that focuses on preparing
communities for anticipated encroachment from metropolitan areas. In addition, acquired
education in Urban & Regional Planning at Ball State University provides a solid foundation in
quantitative methods and land use planning. Lastly, certification by the American Institute of
Certified Planners (AICP) ensures the competence sought by communities,

Current professional responsibilities as Director of the Department of Planning of Cecil Township
(10 minutes from Pittsburgh) include preparation of a Unified Development Ordinance to enable ~ :"%
the Township to accommodate and direct expected sprawl from Pittsburgh. In addition, ,."
preparation of a Comprehensive Plan complements such efforts. Supervisory responsibility
extends to two Zoning Officers and two Building Inspectors. Previous experience with the
Noblesville (IN) Department of Planning & Development began a career that has focused on
preparing communities for expected growth from population centers i~.o'

I am extremely confident that the combination of my professional work experience and education
will enable me to rise well beyond expectations in the fulfillment of duties associated with any
position. I am completely comfortable with a hectic work environment and am familiar with the
Indiana Code and typical local governmental planning procedures. I genuinely enjoy the field of
planning and desire to work for an administration that encourages creativity and boldness in
finding planning solutions. I would welcome an opportunity to discuss a senior position with the
Town of Mooresville. Please feel free to contact me discreetly during work hours at (724) 745 ....... ·
2227, by mail at the above address, or by e-mail at dhh~icubed.com. I appreciate your
consideration. Thank you.

Sincerely,

David H. Hirschle
