MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> MINUTES <br /> THURSDAY, MARCH 11, 2004 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday, March 11,2004 at 6:00 P.M. at the <br />Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman, Alan Kramer, Don Barry and Jori Swisher. Member absent: <br />Mike Young and Christopher Crouch. Tim Currens, Town Attorney, was present. <br /> <br />Motion to approve minutes of the February 12, 2004 meeting was made by Don Barry, second by <br />Jon Swisher. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />First on the agenda was Ross Holloway, Holloway Engineering, representing the New Life <br />Community Wesleyan Church, State Road 144, requesting a variance of use asked for a <br />continuance until April 8, 2004. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Jon Swisher, second by Don Barry, to continue the variance of use for New <br />Life Community Wesleyan until April 8, 2004. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />Next was Karen Harman, 440 Maple Lane, requesting a variance of use to operate a Therapeutic <br />Massage Practice, which was continued from January 8, 2004. This was tabled until the Town <br />Council approved the new Comprehensive Plan. Since this plan had not been adopted as of yet, <br />the board said they would go ahead and make a decision of the variance. Mr. Barry stated that <br />he had driven up that way to look at the area and he felt that this business would make a very low <br />impact on the area. After reading the Facts of Finding for Variance of Use, Mr. Kramer asked for <br />a motion to approve or deny the variance. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Don Barry, second by Jon Swisher, to approve the Variance of Use for <br />Karen Harman, 440 Maple Lane, to operate a Therapeutic Maussage Practice with the restrictions <br />that all minimum and maximum requirements for a sign be met and there will be no lighting. <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />Mrs. Harman asked where she could get the requirements for a sign and she was told to see Mr. <br />Beikman our Building Inspector. <br /> <br />Next was Millard L. David, 10022 Old State Road 67, requesting a variance of use to operated a <br />used car business. Mr. David said there has been a used car business there since 1950. They <br />had let their license expire and now they would like to reinstate the license. Mr. Swisher asked <br />how the property was now being used and Mr. David said he was now storing Corvettes in the <br />building. Mr. Kramer asked if he had inside and outside storage and Mr. David said he had <br />3,000 feet of inside storage. Mr. Kramer stated all his storage was inside with some cars outside <br />on lot to be sold and Mr. David said that was fight. Mr. Currens asked if there would be a limit <br />of numbers of cars they would have and Mr. David said would have about twenty to twenty-five <br />cars. <br /> <br /> <br />
