182 March 16, 1993 The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, March 16, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. Council members present were Tim Viles, Steve Edwards, Dick Heald, Pat Overholser and Steve Ballard. No members were absent. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. Wastewater Treatment Superintendent Steve Orme, who is serving as the chairman of the committee to revise the personnel policy, asked the Council to hold an executive session to discuss personnel on Monday, March 22, 1993.. The Council set an executive session of the Mooresville Town Council for Monday, March 22, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall for this purpose. Council President Steve Ballard asked Brown Township Trustee Kaye Don Haught to join the Council at the Council table to discuss the merger of the Mooresville Fire Department and the Brown Township Fire Department. Council President Ballard in- formed Trustee Haught that the Town will be meeting with EMAS to discuss terminating the contract between the Town and EMAS. Trustee Haught advised the Council that they do not wish to merge the Brown Township Fire Department and the Mooresville Fire Department at this time. Council President Ballard thanked Trustee Haught for his time. Mr. Carl Waite of HNTB advised the Council that the bids for the Chlorine -~ont~t~ Tank Expansion and Dechlorination Facility at the Wastewater Treatment Plant had been received as follows: Triad Associate, Inc. $ 96,700.00 ~ i Maddox Industrial 105,085.00 Bowen Engineering Co. 106,800.00 Reynolds, Inc. 106,900.00 Mr. Waite advised the Council that the contractor submitting the low bid was HNTB's recommendation for the contract. Motion was made by Councilman Viles and second by Councilwoman Overholser to accept Mr. Waite's recommendation of Triad Associate, Inc. bid for the Chlorine Contact Tank Expansion and Dechlorination Facility. Motion carried unanimously. Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman Edwards to approve the contract with Triad Associates, Inc. subject to review by Town Attorney Tim Currens and allow Council President Steve Ballard to act as the signatory for this contract. Motion carried unanimously. Town Attorney Tim Currens advised the Council that the bids for mowing the Town Cemetery would be accepted at the next regular Town Council meeting. Councilman Heald asked Mr. Currens to contact Crystal Flash and ask them to attend the next Council meeting to report ! ~ on the progress they have made in regard to the gasoline spill at their business on East Main Street. Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker advised the Council that the public hearing for the abatement for Majestic Block and Mooresville Block would be held the first meeting of April 1993. Town Attorney advised the Council that the Plan Commission held a work session to discuss some changes to the Town Zoning Ordinance. These changes will be brought to the Council in the near future for their action.
