182 <br /> <br /> March 16, 1993 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was <br /> held Tuesday, March 16, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville <br /> Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Tim Viles, Steve Edwards, <br /> Dick Heald, Pat Overholser and Steve Ballard. No members were <br /> absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Wastewater Treatment Superintendent Steve Orme, who is <br /> serving as the chairman of the committee to revise the personnel <br /> policy, asked the Council to hold an executive session to discuss <br /> personnel on Monday, March 22, 1993.. The Council set an <br /> executive session of the Mooresville Town Council for Monday, <br /> March 22, 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall for this <br /> purpose. <br /> <br /> Council President Steve Ballard asked Brown Township <br /> Trustee Kaye Don Haught to join the Council at the Council table <br /> to discuss the merger of the Mooresville Fire Department and the <br /> Brown Township Fire Department. Council President Ballard in- <br /> formed Trustee Haught that the Town will be meeting with EMAS <br /> to discuss terminating the contract between the Town and EMAS. <br /> Trustee Haught advised the Council that they do not wish to <br /> merge the Brown Township Fire Department and the Mooresville Fire <br /> Department at this time. Council President Ballard thanked <br /> Trustee Haught for his time. <br /> <br /> Mr. Carl Waite of HNTB advised the Council that the bids <br /> for the Chlorine -~ont~t~ Tank Expansion and Dechlorination <br /> Facility at the Wastewater Treatment Plant had been received <br /> as follows: <br /> Triad Associate, Inc. $ 96,700.00 ~ i <br /> Maddox Industrial 105,085.00 <br /> Bowen Engineering Co. 106,800.00 <br /> Reynolds, Inc. 106,900.00 <br /> <br /> Mr. Waite advised the Council that the contractor submitting <br /> the low bid was HNTB's recommendation for the contract. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to accept Mr. Waite's recommendation of Triad Associate, Inc. <br /> bid for the Chlorine Contact Tank Expansion and Dechlorination <br /> Facility. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to approve the contract with Triad Associates, Inc. subject <br /> to review by Town Attorney Tim Currens and allow Council President <br /> Steve Ballard to act as the signatory for this contract. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Town Attorney Tim Currens advised the Council that the <br /> bids for mowing the Town Cemetery would be accepted at the <br /> next regular Town Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Councilman Heald asked Mr. Currens to contact Crystal <br /> Flash and ask them to attend the next Council meeting to report ! ~ <br /> on the progress they have made in regard to the gasoline spill <br /> at their business on East Main Street. <br /> <br /> Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker advised the <br /> Council that the public hearing for the abatement for Majestic <br /> Block and Mooresville Block would be held the first meeting of <br /> April 1993. <br /> <br /> Town Attorney advised the Council that the Plan Commission <br /> held a work session to discuss some changes to the Town Zoning <br /> Ordinance. These changes will be brought to the Council in the <br /> near future for their action. <br /> <br /> <br />
