Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will <br />be held Tuesday, September 7 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville <br />Town Hall. ' <br /> <br /> Pr~ident ~ <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Clerk-Treasure~ <br /> <br /> September 7, 1993 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was <br /> held Tuesday, September 7 1993 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville <br /> Town Hall. ' <br /> <br /> Council members present were Tim Viles, Steve Edwards, <br /> Pat Overholser, Dick Heald and Steve Ballard. <br /> No members were absent. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gary Meyers, Mooresville School Corporation Superintendent, <br /> appeared before the Council to advise the Town that due to <br /> legislation passed in April 1992 the schools could no longer <br /> have children under the age of eighteen act as patrols on <br /> town streets. Due to this legislation the school would like <br /> for the town to employee additional school crossing guards for <br /> heavily traveled intersections in town. <br /> <br /> Mr. & Mrs. Chris Fluke addressed the Council on this matter <br /> stating the need for crossing guards on Monroe Street at all <br /> intersections. <br /> <br /> Karen Crane addressed the Council in regard to the need <br /> of a crossing guard at Carlisle Street and Maple Lane. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Mitzi Forbes advised the Council of the volume of <br /> traffic at Monroe Street and Main Street and the lack of <br /> motorists concern for the children at this intersection. <br /> <br /> Ms. Julie King addressed the Council in regard to the <br /> problem of children running in front of cars around the schools. <br /> <br /> After much discussion on this matter Council President Ballard <br /> appointed a committee of himself, Tim Currens, Police Chief <br /> George Ditton, Bill Colbert, Jim Forrester, Gary Meyers, <br /> Steve Harris and Ann Whaley to work out a solution to this matter. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards, second by Councilman <br /> Viles to approve the first reading of Ordinance #11-1993 An <br /> Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to adopt Ordinance #12-1993 An Ordinance Amending <br /> Ordinance #26-1992. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to adopt Ordinance #10-1993 An Ordinance Rezoning <br /> Property Upon Application of John E. Medsker. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
