Councilman Wright asked the Council if our Ordinances <br />concerning unkempt residential areas had been enforced in <br />the past. After a short discussion, Councilman Hensley <br />said he would meet with Police Chief Tim Viles and get a <br />report on this matter. <br /> <br />Councilman Pygman asked the Street Department if they were <br />ready to begin painting the curbs. Councilman Mathis and <br />Street Commissioner Joe Beikman are working on this matter. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman <br />Dolen to approve the second reading of Ordinance Three(3), <br />1996 regulating utility poles and public right of way. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman <br />Dolen to approve and sign the letter to Go-Pro Underwriters <br />recognizing Hadley, Cook, and Quillen as our insurance <br />carrier. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman <br />Dolen to pay five-hundred dollars ($500.00)to Mrs. Wisner <br />former owner of property at 18 West Harrison Street. This <br />said person still has possession of the garage and parking <br />places until April of 1998. The five-hundred ($500.00) <br />dollars would relinquish this possession to the town. There <br />would also be a need to help Mrs. Wisner move the articles <br />from the garage. The motion carried unanimously. Town <br />Attorney Tim Currens will draft a letter to follow up this <br />verbal agreement. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman <br />Hensley to approve a Resolution to provide services to the <br />annexation of Amoco and Home Bank properties. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman <br />Dolen to approve Ordinance #Four (4), 1996 to annex the Amoco <br />and Home Bank properties. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Clerk-Treasurer Sandra Perry announced the Clerk-Treasurer's <br /> <br />office would be closed on Good Friday, April 5, 1996. Voter <br />registrations for the Primary election will be sent to the <br />County Election Board Thursday, April 4, 1996. The Chamber <br />of Commerce notified the Town of Mooresville of their <br />sponsoring of a Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 27, 1996 at <br />9:00 a. m. until 12:00 noon. <br />Street Commissioner Joe Beikman reported that paving would <br />begin June 1, 1996. Streetcleaning begins this week (first <br />week of April), and the changing of the intersection at Old <br />67 and Indianapolis Road will be completed before the paving <br />is completed. <br />Bill Abbott of the Plan Commission announced the preparing of <br />a proposed Buffer Zone extension to present to the Town <br />Council at a future Town Council meeting. <br />Animal Control officer Mark Taylor reported sixteen (16) <br />calls, seven (7) impounded, and one (1) returned. <br />Town Council President Mark Mathis opened the sealed Cemetery <br />Lawn Mowing bids.
