Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br />the minutes of the April 29, 1996 meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Street Commissioner Joe Beikman reported to the Council the cost of <br />running a T. V. camera through the sanitary lines on South <br />Indiana Street. The cost is ninety-five cents (95¢) a foot. <br />We have approximately three thousand four hundred twenty feet(3,420)., <br />which will roughly cost three thousand two hundred and fifty <br /> (3,250) dollars. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Wright <br />to use T. V. cameras on South Street in the laterals of the <br />sanitary lines. This will run from the first alley east of <br />Lockerbie, down the short stretch,and the alley between South High <br />down to ValueMarket. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Town Council President Mark Mathis opened Bids for the plumbing <br />at the new Police Station at 104 West Main Street. Notice <br />was sent to all the plumbers in the town but only received two (2) <br />bids: <br /> Hession Plumbing $8677 (eight thousand six <br /> hundred seventy-seven) <br /> <br /> Joe Neal Plumbing $4280 (four thousand two <br /> hundred eightydollars) <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen <br /> to accept the bid by Joe Neal Plumbing of Four thousand two <br /> hundred eighty dollars ( $4,280).Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Bids for the Electrical work were opened next. They were as <br /> follows: <br /> Pollard Electric $7,337 <br /> Curry Electric 9,324 <br /> <br /> Weddle Electric 9,750 <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman <br /> Dolen to accept the bid by Pollard Electric for $7,337.00 <br /> because their company is local and their bid is lowest. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Bids for the Heating and Cooling were opened. They were as <br /> follows: Eubank $11,400 (Eleven thousand four- <br /> hundred dollars.) <br /> <br /> Jenco 12,800 (Twelve thousand eight- hundred dollars) <br /> <br /> Bob & Jim's 13,160 (Thirteen thousand one- <br /> hundred sixty dollars). <br /> Weddle Heat 14,500 (Fourteen thousand five- hundred dollars). <br /> <br /> Kearns Heat 11,500 (Eleve~ thousand five- hund~ed dollars). <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright <br /> to accept the bid by Kearns Heating and Cooling for $11,500 <br /> (the second lowest bid) because Kearns could begin immediately. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Town Council President Mark Mathis introduced to the Council a <br /> letter written by Peg Edwards, Street Department Office Manager, <br /> in which she is requesting a change in her pay for the Building <br /> permits. Peggy now receives $400.00 (four hundred dollars) a <br /> month and no percentage of the permits.She is requesting $210.00 <br /> (two hundred ten dollars) a month and 25% (twenty five) of the <br /> building permit revenue. Research will be done by the Clerk- <br /> Treasurer and report back to the Council at the May 20, 1996 <br /> meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
