409 <br /> <br />Town Attorney Tim Currens reported the Butler/Krivoshia and Merriman Rezones would not be <br />heard at this meeting because publication had to be put in the newspaper and the earliest date <br />they could be heard would be the October 6, 1998 Town Council meeting. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Dolen to approve hook-on to <br />the sewer for Mr. Pagan of 856 Landersdale Road. Motion carried 4-1 with Council member <br />Mark Mathis opposed. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to approve hook-on to <br />the sewer for Mrs. Peoples. Motion carried 4-1 ~vith Council member Mark Mathis opposed. <br /> <br />Mike Anderson of 8970 Slideoff Rd requested to be hooked on to the sewer that will be across <br />the road at North Madison Crossing. Motion was made by Councilman Pygman to table, no <br />second was forthcoming so the motion died. Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second <br />by Councilman Dolen to approve the hook-on for Mike Anderson. Motion was 2-3, with <br />Council members Mathis, Hensley, and Pygrnan opposed. <br /> <br />All sewer hook-ons approved require the property owners to sign a waiver of remonstrance lbr <br />annexation to the Town of Mooresville. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to approve a <br />Proclamation for the week of September 13 thru the 19th, 1998 as "ALWAYS BUCKLE <br />CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT" week in the Town of Mooresville. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley to erect a Stop Sign at <br /> the corner of Maple and Bridge Street. Motion carried 4-0. Councilman Pygman abstained. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to approve Resolutiun <br /> #5, 1998 to Adopt Fiscal Plan for Brookmore and Krivoshia/Butler property annexation. Motion <br /> carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Hensley to approve Ordinance <br /> #18, 1998 for annexation of Brookmore and Krivoshia/Butler. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Street Commissioner Joe Beikman stated with the addition of Brookmore he was requesting <br /> permission to spend $21,000 out of this years budget for a leaf vac. Motion Was made by <br /> Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve this request from this years <br /> budget. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Street Commissioner Joe Beikman also requested approval of a 2 Ton Dump Truck, single axles, <br /> snov~zplow and spreader in the sum of $45,000. Mr.' Beikman explained he s,h. ou!d be able to <br /> encumber from the 1998 budget but needs to check the balances. Motion was made by <br /> Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve this request. Motion carried 4-0 <br /> with one abstention, Council President Mathis. <br /> <br /> EDC Director Harold Gutzwiller asked for approval of Weitzel Construction for the Brookmore <br /> sewer project. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to <br /> approve the contract. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> Director Gutzwiller informed the Council concerning a Tax Abatement for Weliever Chevrolet. <br /> This abatement is on the building only. They have a total of thirteen points Which qualifies fl~em <br /> for a three year abatement. The area will have to be designated an Economic Development Area <br /> and has to be advertised. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported twenty-four (24) calls, seven (7) impotmds, and <br /> four (4) returned. <br /> <br /> A special meeting was set for September 8, 1998, at 7:00 P. M. in the Conference Room lbr <br /> discussion of the 1999 Budget. This was later changed to Thursday, September 10, 1998, at 7:00 <br /> P. M. in the Conference Room. <br /> <br /> <br />
