413 <br /> <br /> Oct. 6, 1998 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in Executive session on Tuesday, Octobcl ~'~. 1!)~)8, at {,:~1 g I'. <br />M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />The Executive Session was to discuss two projects interested m locating in Moo~csvillc with <br />EDC Director Harold Gutzwiller. <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session afterwards at 7:30 P. M. Town Council <br />members present for both meetings were: President Mark Mathis, Toby Dolen, Bill Wright, Jim <br />Hensley, and Andy Pygman. Town Attorney Tim Currens was also present at thc regular <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wright second by Councihnan Dolcn to approve ~hc mintflcs <br />of the September 15, 1998 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway ofHolloway & Assoc. presented the Merriman property on Highway 67 lb~ a <br />rezone from Agriculture to I-2. The Plan Commission had recmnmended to the Town Council <br />to rezone to I-2. Attorney Dale Coffey, representing surrounding property owners asked the <br />question' Is 1-21the best use for this property at this time.'? The property owners do not feel this <br />rezone is needed at this time. Motion was made by Councihnan Pygman second by Ctmncihnai~ <br />Dolen to rezone the Merriman Property to I-2. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway next presented the Butler-Krivosha property on Highway 67 rezone flora li-3 t~ <br />PUD I. This was changed to PUD-I because sensitive to Brookmorc Subdivision as Iht as <br />lighting, limiting work hours, etc. The Plan Commission recmnmcnded to the 'l'ox~ n Cotmcil It: <br />not rezone to PUD-I. The Comprehensive Plan shows Business zoning. Motion was marie by <br />Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Dolen to rezone to a PUD-I. Motion carried 54} <br /> <br /> Next, Ross Holloway presented a rezone of approximately 24 acres on Landersdale Road oxvncd <br /> by Hopkins, Caperton, and Stafford. Ewing properties is seeking to purchase thc gronndfor <br /> some doubles and single family homes. Ewing properties has stipulated Bridge Street has to be <br /> thru and completely finished prior to their purchase. This acreage is already a PUl) Res. but has <br /> to be rezoned to the same because the plat had changed. Originally there was to be 55 patio <br /> homes. <br /> Since the patio homes would not sell, the property went up for sale. Brian Nelson of <br /> Knightsbridge spoke saying Bridge Street was not the issue, but the issue was ownership of the <br /> homes. The doubles would be rentals and he questioned the economic feasibility of the project. <br /> Tom Sanborn 1220 Drit~wood in Roberson Woods told the Council the Plan Commission tinned <br /> the rezone down by a 7-1 vote. Eric Shields spoke with traffic problems as his concern. <br /> <br /> EDC Director Harold Gutzwiller informed the Council there was a need for leasable propel'tics. <br /> He did a background check on the Company and they had high ratings for their developers and <br /> properties and he thought this was a good addition to the Town. This is a PUD so the Towll <br /> could enforce requirements. Martha Thompson, 1216 Driftwood and Eugene Clements of <br /> Knightsbridge also spoke in opposition of the development. Rob Randenbarger, representative <br /> for Ewing Properties told the Council the developer started 15 years ago and they hire live-in <br /> management people. Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman i'ygman <br /> to approve Ewing Properties rezone. Motion carried 3-1 with 1 abstention. Councihmm l lensley <br /> voted opposed and Councilman Mathis abstained from voting. <br /> <br /> Attorney Mark Peden requested a rezone for Indiana Farmer's Union, 204 East I tigh Street, <br /> from Residential to B-1. The Union has purchased the home for an office. Two full ti~ne people <br /> will work in the office from 8 AM to 5PM. Motion was made by Councihnan Dolcn, second by <br /> Councilman Wright to approve the rezone to B-1. Motion carried 4-1. Com~cihnan Pygman <br /> opposed. <br /> <br /> <br />
