. 5f5 <br />$8,500.00. Motion was made by Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Dolen, to <br />approve the Resolution to sell the Police car according to the agreement to the <br />Metropolitan School District Decatur Township in the amount of $8,500.00. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />We need to advertise the additional appropriation from the General Fund to put the <br />money into the Police budget as long as we receive the money by September 6, 2002. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, seconded by Councilman Pygman, to approve <br />the advertisement for additional appropriation from the General Fund to the Police budget <br />line item Police vechile, as long as the money is received by September 6, 2002. Motion <br />carried 5 -0. <br />Next Dr. Knierim thanked the council for the salary ordinance amendment for the Police <br />Department. <br />Next Councilman Dolen stated they had received three bids for the paving project for <br />Woodland Hills. The bids are as follows: <br />1. Milestone Contractor, LP - $36,920.00 <br />2. City -Wide Paving - 32,699.00 <br />3. Wallace Construction Inc. - 31,221.46 <br />Mr. Dolen stated that Wallace Construction had done work in the past and he <br />recommended we let the bid to them. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, <br />seconded by Councilman Mathis, to accept the bid from Wallace Construction, Inc. for <br />$31,221.46 for the paving project in Woodland Hills. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Councilman Dolen stated that the West Nile Virus has been reported in Morgan County, <br />he feel it would be beneficial to the Town of Mooresville to buy a mosquito-spraying <br />machine and start spraying. He stated that surrounding communities were now spraying. <br />He stated the equipment would cost $8,500.00 He said the chemicals would cost around <br />$55.00 a gal. and it would take about 6 gal. for the Town of Mooresville. Motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen, seconded by Councilman Clark, to buy insecticide <br />equipment at the cost of $8,500.00. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Animal Control Officer, Mark Taylor, reported twenty -eight (28) calls, five (5) <br />impounds, and four (4) returns. <br />Ms. Humes reported that construction had started on the flasher light at State Road 67 <br />and Pleiades Drive and should be completed next week. <br />Ms. Berwick asked the council where she would send a letter for insurance purpose <br />stating the tree located 67 W. Harrison St is dead and needs to be removed. The tree is <br />on town right -of -way and President Warthen asked Mr. Beikman to check on having the <br />tree removed <br />Motion was made by Councilman Clark, seconded by Councilman Pygman, to approve <br />the payment of claims. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen, seconded by Councilman Clark, to adjourn. Motion carried <br />5 -0. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on <br />Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at 6:30 P.M. which will be the 2003 Budget Adoption <br />Hearing. <br />President, T m arthen <br />ATTEST: <br />Sandra R.
