567 <br />Hire Department: Les Farmer, Fire Chief, told the council he had requested three bids, <br />but only received two bids. These bids were to refurbish a 1985 fire engine. <br />McGinley Fire Apparatus $54,685.00 <br />Renewed Performance Inc. 48,376.00 <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Clark to approve the <br />lowest bid of $48,376.00 from Renewed Performance Inc. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported twenty-five (25) calls, five (5) impounds, <br />and three (3) returned. <br />Councilman Mathis thanked Joe Beikman, Street Commissioner, for moving the paving <br />along. He had heard from a resident in one of the neighborhoods and they were ecstatic. <br />Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councilman Clark to approve <br />payment of the claims. Motion carried 5 -0. <br />Councilman Pygman told the council he wants to limit the number of times a home can <br />have yard sales. He thought the town had an ordinance. Attorney Tim Curren said he <br />would check on this and he thought maybe this was in the zoning ordinance. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion was <br />made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to adjourn the meeting. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday, <br />October 1, 2002, at 6:30 P. Perry, Clerk- Treasurer ° <br />October 1, 2002 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at <br />6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Town Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Andy Pygman, Toby <br />Dolen, and Mark Mathis. John L. Clark was absent. Town attorney Tim Curren was <br />present. Leroy Pickering from the First Baptist Church gave the prayer. <br />President Tom Warthen introduced Anne Eldred, a seventh grade student at Paul Hadley <br />Junior High. President Warthen had received a letter from the Mayor and the Chief of <br />Police of the city of Englewood Ohio. The letter was praising Anne for her heroic action <br />at a Pizza Hut where she witnessed an older man beating up a teenager outside the front <br />door. She was quick thinking to remember the license plate number of the older man and <br />he was apprehended. Anne was given a certificate and a brick with her name will be put <br />in the sidewalk in front of the old Methodist Church. <br />Don Adams, a teacher at Mooresville High School, brought his evening government <br />class to the council meeting. Dana Holsapple, President of the Student Council, <br />requested permission to have a Homecoming Parade on October 4, 2002, at 5:00 PM. <br />They said they would use the usual route and had already talked to Chief of Police Tim <br />Viles. Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to <br />approve the parade. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Jackie Wintin appeared before the council asking permission to put purple ribbons on <br />trees in a one block square of Main and Indiana Streets for the month of October. <br />October has been made Domestic Violence Awareness Month. A motion was made for <br />approval of the ribbons by Councilman Mathis, seconded by Councilman Dolen. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br />
