Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals <br />Thursday July 14th, 2022 <br />Members Present: David Saddler, Neal Allman, Mike Young, Charles McGuire, <br />Jennifer Meador and attorney Ashley Ulbright. <br />Neal Allman called the meeting to order then requested a motion on the previous <br />minutes: David Saddler made the motion to approve the minutes, Mike Young <br />seconded and the motion passed 5-0. <br />Agenda item l : Larry Eakle presented his special exception, asking for the <br />allowance of a contractor's storage unit on a B zoned property at 353 E Main St. <br />Mr. Eakle stated the building would be approximately 5000 sq. ft., have a small <br />office, 2 restrooms and limited employees. After a brief discussion and no <br />questions from the audience Neal Allman called for a motion; Jennifer Meador <br />made the motion to approve, Mike Young seconded the motion and the motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Agenda item 2: John Larrison of Holloway Engineering presented variance <br />requests for Mr. & Mrs. Garland @ 211 '/Z E Harrison St. Variances include: front <br />yard set back from 40 feet to 12 i/2, rear yard set back from 30 feet to 6 and a lot <br />size less than 10,000 sq. ft. Mike Young questioned asked that there be no vinyl, <br />and questioned the idea of a 2 -story dwelling. Jennifer Meador asked about price <br />point and confirmed the property owners were present and questioned if they'd like <br />to speak. Mr. Garland stated it was a single story so that it could be handicap <br />accessible. Neal Allman confirmed there were no drainage concerns. When the <br />board had no further questions or comments and no one from the audience spoke <br />Neal Allman called for a vote: David Saddler made the motion to approve all 3 <br />variances, Jennifer Meador seconded the motion and the variances passed 5-0. <br />Agenda item 3: Discussion of Rules and Regulations, David Saddler proposed a <br />committee to meet and discuss possible changes to the proposed draft. After a brief <br />discussion it was decided David Saddler would chair the committee. <br />During new or unfinis mess Town Building Inspector Tim Bennett, <br />discussed Mr h ccupying a camper / travel trailer for some time <br />allowed ring the demo and re uilding of their burnt home. Mr. Bennett indicated that he <br />had originally athis and informed the Plan Commission in 2020 of the 10 - <br />month agreement.
