November 18, 1996 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in a regular scheduled meeting <br />on Monday, November 18, 1996 at 7:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town <br />Hall. <br /> <br />Council members present were: President Mark Mathis, Vice-President <br />Andy Pygman, Jim Hensley, Toby Dolen, and Bill Wright. No members <br />were absent. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Dolen to <br />accept the minutes of the November 7, 1996 Special Open Meeting <br />with the change from Councilman Pygman to Councilman Wright seconding <br />the adjournment of the meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Kaye Don Haught, Brown Township Trustee, appeared before the Council <br />to pursue the possibility of a meeting between the Brown Township <br />Board and the Mooresville Town Council to discuss the combining of the <br />two Fire Departments. Town Attorney Tim Currens will research and <br />review this and the Town Council will get back to the Trustee how and <br />when the meeting should take place. <br /> <br />Councilman Dolen suggested it was time to pick a Fire Chief. Motion <br />was made by Councilman Dolen to accept Doug Allen as'the new Fire <br />Chief. No second to the motion was forthcoming. Therefore, a motion <br />was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Pygman to accept <br />Les Farmer as Fire Chief. Motion carried 3-2 with Councilman Dolen <br />and Councilman Mathis opposing. <br /> <br />The Indianapolis Airport Authority has a noise compatibility program <br />which will meet three (3) times in six (6) months. The Town of <br />Mooresville has been asked to participate in the program. The Council <br />will find someone to attend the meetings. <br /> <br /> Bids were accepted from two (2) companies on the Hail damage repair. <br /> They are as follows: <br /> <br /> Moore Restoration Top to Bottom <br /> <br /> Rental $2165.35 $1016.80 <br /> <br /> T. H. $7362.39 $7413.79 <br /> & Garage <br /> <br /> St. Gar. $9055.38 $10684.76 <br /> Fire D. 5843.00 1900.00 <br /> WWTP 9555.60 8497.00 <br /> <br /> The Council decided to have a requote on the Fire Dept. since there <br /> was such difference in the quotes. The Council gave the bid for the <br /> Rental to Top to Bottom, the Town Hall and Garage to Top to Bottom, <br /> the Street GArage to Moore Restoration, and the WWTP to Top to <br /> Bottom. Contract agreements will need to be written and Purchase <br /> Orders to encumber the money by the end of the year. <br /> <br /> Town Attorney Tim Currens presented Resolution # 6 to enroll the Police <br /> and Fire into the 1977 Pension Plan to take effect as of April 1, 1997. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Dolen to <br /> accept the Resolution as read. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Hensley to <br /> approve Resolution #7, 1996 to charge each single employee on the <br /> Health Insurance PLan an amount of $1.00 per year for their Insurance. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to <br /> approve Resolution #8 -Fisoal Plan for annexing. Bothwell property <br /> into the Town of Mooresville. It will be Mr] Both~ell's <br /> responsibility to go under the road to hook on to the sanitary line. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
