BOARD OF ZONING APPF~LS

Wednesday - August 21, 1991
Mooresville Town Hall - 7:00 P.M.

The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met for its regular meeting

on August 21, 1991 at 7:00 P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall.

Present were Board members Alan Kramer, Vern Kimmel, Don Barry and

Charles McGuire. Absent was Board member Steve Oschman. Also present was

the Board's Attorney, Timothy C. Currens.

A motion was made by Vern Kimmel to accept the minutes of the July 17,

1991 meeting. A second was made by Don Barry. Motion carried unanimously.

The Board reviewed the Findings of Fact for James R. Honeycutt of Hadley
Road. Alan Kramer asked that the word "mobile" be removed from the 7th line
and remove the word "too" in the 6th line. All members present agreed to these
changes.

Findings of Fact were also reviewed for Michael Wilcher of 2262 Hadley

Road. All members agreed these were in order.
NEW BUSINESS

Mark Peden, attorney, came before the Board with a request for a variance
on behalf of the Mooresville Veterans of Foreign Wars, 23 E. South Street to put
in a new parking lot. Mr. Peden had originally appeared before the Planning
Commission in June for a rezone but it was determined at that time that a
variance would be more agreeable to the Commission and the adjacent neighbors,
Horace and Marion Adams.
Alan Kramer asked how wide the lot was and Abe Herzog said it was 50 feet
wide which is considerably less than most lots in Mooresville. Alan then asked
about drainage and Abe said it was higher in the back than the front and would
drain towards the street. However, Abe said they would work with the Town before
they do anything so it is done properly. As of now, they will not be doing
anything with the existing property until the woman who currently lives there
would move.

Horace Adams, adjacent neighbor, spoke from the floor. Mr. Adams requested
that the following items go on record regarding this variance.
1. This will be a parking lot with no buildings

2. Parking lot will have its own entrance and exit and the alley will be kept
the same width as it is currently.

- 1 -
