MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> MINUTES <br /> SElrrEMBER 20, 2000 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on Wednesday, September 20, 2000 for ~heir <br />regular meeting at the Mooresville Town Hall. Board members present were Alan Kramer, <br />Donald Bat~,, Jeff,Tnstus and Mike Yotmg. Mooresville Town attorney TL.n Currans was also <br />pre~e~t <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Alan gramer at 7:00 p.m, at this time Chairman <br />Kremer asked for a motion on the minutes for the August 16,2000 meeting. Mike Young motioned <br />to approve the minutes with three spelling corrections. JeffJustns seconded the motion, the motion <br />passed wiltt a 4-0 vote witb none opposed <br /> <br />The second item on the agenda was Scott Yeager representing_ Crystal Flash ia asking for five <br />Variances, to build a new building at 133 and 14_2 East Main Street The first variance is for <br />setback fi'om the required 40 feet to _25 feet on the Western most property line, for the building <br />and for 40 feet to 20 feet for the canopy, the second variance setback on the Southern most <br />property line fi'om 10 feet to 5 feet. The third variunce from the required 40 feet to 10 feet an the <br />most Eastern side of the property, fi'om the required 40 feet to 10 feet The last variance for <br />building across a property line. They are also asking a set back variance on the nol~h from 60 feet <br />to 15 feet for a sign and a variance to increase the sign surface square footage from 170 square feet <br />to 255 square feet Also plauned is flag pole to be at a 15 foot setback With no questions fi'om the <br />floor or the board, Mr. Kramer read lhe Findings of Fact for Variance ~om Development <br />Standards. At this time Mr. Kramer asked for a motion of all of the variances. Don Ban'y <br />motioned to approve the variance with the ~'dpulation that the flag pole not be over _20 feet high. <br />JeffJnslus offered a second to the motion, motion carried 4-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />The next item on the agenda was Glen Neal asl~it~g for a variance from developmental standards; <br />lot frontage and depth to width ratio, to create a 2-1or minor plat .Alan Kramer reprasevti,g the <br />Neals excused him self from the board with Mike Young taking the chair. The property in question <br />is at _272 Landersdale Road. The first item is lot #1 frontage fi'om the standard 65 feet to 24 feet <br />and lot # 2 width to depth ratio. There were no question from the Board or the floor to be <br />discussed. Mr. Young read the Findings of Fact for Variance fi'om Developmental 5tandarcls, With <br />no flasher questions Mr. Young asked for a motion on the variance. A motion to approve the <br />variance was made by SeffJusms and seconded from Don Ban's/. The vote was 2-1 with Mike <br />Young opposed With out enough members to make a quorum for a vote, the variance will be <br />tabled for the October 25th meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />
