MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met at its regularly scheduled <br />meeting on Wednesday, December 17, 1986, at the Mooresville Town Hall. Present <br />were Board Members Steve Oschman, Wendell Thaler, Warren Franklin and Don Barry. <br />Standing in for Board Attorney Timothy C. Currens was Attorney Michael A. Ksenak. <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Steve Oschman who determined there <br />was a quorum present. <br /> <br /> The Board proceeded to the first item on the agenda which was the petition <br />by Helen Manning requesting a variance to allow her to conduct a wood carving <br />business in her home. The Board found no one present to proceed with said <br />petition and the Board then moved on to the next item of business on the agenda <br />which was the petition by Raymond Reed requesting a variance to allow the <br />placement of a mobile home on his property. Steve Oschman informed the Board <br />and the remonstrators present that he had been notified prior to the meeting that <br />Mr. Reed was not intending to proceed with the petition and the remonstrators <br />were notified that if in the future Mr. Reed desired to proceed with this request <br />that they would again be properly notified of the future hearing date. Several <br />of the remonstrators present advised the Board that Mr. Reed had built an addition <br />to his property and added four (4) apartments. Steve Oschman advised then that <br />was not a matter within the jurisdiction of the Board of Zoning Appeals and <br />instructed those concerned to contact the Plan Commission. <br /> <br /> The Board then moved on to the next item on the agenda which was the <br />petition of Theo Hastings requesting a variance of the development standards to <br />build a garage at his property located at 830 North Indiana Street in Mooresville. <br />Mr. Hastings advised that his lot was 230 by 100 feet and that he desired to <br />construct a garage and to have the front of the garage even with the side of the <br />home which is 19 feet from the property line.
