Motion was made by Steve Edwards and second by Mike Fiscus to reappoint Jim Bruner Mooresville Fire chief. Motion carried. Motion was made by Richard Heald and second by Pat Overholser to reappoint Ed Bucker Cemetery Sexton. Motion carried. Motion was made by Mike Fiscus and second by Steve Edwards to reappoint Bill Abbott Town Engineer. Motion carried. Motion was made by Richard Heald and second by Steve Edwards to reappoint Joe Beikman Street Commissioner. Motion carried. Motion was made by Steve Edwards and second by Mike Fiscus to reappoint Warren Franklin Sewer Superintendent. Warren Franklin reported that the weather has not affected the operation of the sewer plant to this point. Police chief George Ditton informed the board that Greg Staum has rejoined the Mooresville Police Department after a short time of employment at the Morgan County Sheriff's Depart- ment. chief Ditton also stated he is looking for a crossing guard to patrol the school crossing at Newby Elementary School. Park Superintendent Brent Callahan advised the board that the debris from the maintenance building at Pioneer Park which was destroyed in the wind storm in December would be removed within the next two weeks as he is waiting for the insurance company to make a final determination on the damages. It was reported that there were fifty-five (55) burials in the town cemetery in 1987. Trustee Mike Fiscus discussed with the board the possibility of purchasing new chairs for Town Hall. Trustee Fiscus asked the board to inspect the chairs in Judge Knight's office to see if this was the type of chair the board would like. A decision on this matter would be made at the next meeting. Trustee Fiscus informed the board that Sandy Mc Mahan has been hired to clean Town Hall. President Forbes informed the board that the Town Court re- solved 3,689 cases in 1987 with fines totaling $45,525.86. After a short recess, Street Commissioner Joe Beikman in- formed the board that he felt the bid from Reid Holcomb for a John Deere Front End Loader Model W20C in the amount of $58,921.50 would best serve the needs of the town. Motion was made by Pat Overholser and second by Richard Heald to accept the bid from Reid-Holcomb for a John Deere Front End Loader Model W20C. Motion carried. President Jack Forbes appointed a committee to develop the criteria for the position of Economic Development Director. The committee consists of chairman Pat Overholser and vice chairman Steve Edwards. The board thanked the street department for the new christmas decorations and commended them on their attractiveness and durability. President Forbes inquired about the Revenue Sharing Funds appropriated in the 1988 budget for the senior center. Board attorney Tim Currens advised the board that the funds would be dispersed to the senior center as soon as possible. Motion was made by Steve Edwards to approve the bills and claims.
