Minutes of the Metropolitan Police <br /> Commissioners Meeting fi <br /> January 17, 2008 <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner <br /> Berwick welcomed everyone to the meeting. Present were Chief Viles, <br /> Commissioners Berwick, Kays and Bryant, Town Attorney Tim Currens and <br /> Town Board Member Jeff Cook. <br /> Commissioner Kays motioned for the minutes to be approved and <br /> Commissioner Bryant seconded. <br /> Old Business <br /> SOP 9.08 was approved with Commissioner Kays motioning and <br /> Commissioner Bryant seconding. <br /> SOP 9.10 will replace the old one and was also approved by the <br /> Commission. <br /> SOP 9.09 was abolished and will no longer be used by the Mooresville <br /> Police Department. <br /> New Business <br /> Commissioner Berwick was selected to be the 2008 President of the <br /> Mooresville Police Department Police Commission. <br /> Chief Viles read the stats from December of 2007 as well as the yearly stats <br /> for 2007. <br /> Chief Viles briefed the commissioners on the hiring process and the steps <br /> that would be completed in order to hire the replacements. <br /> Commissioner Berwick was concerned about the number of Hit and Run <br /> Accidents that had occurred in the Town during 2007.
