MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met February 8, 1977 <br />at 7:30 PoM. Members present were Steve Edwards, Paul Walters, <br />Warren Franklin, Raymond House and Eweather Stephens. Attorney <br />Lawson was also present. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the pre~ious meeting were corrected and approved <br />as corrected. <br /> <br /> Docket #1 1977, was presented by Attorney Steve Harris in be- <br />half of his Clients James Ko and Donna K. Ross of 1037 Delwood Dr. <br />after Attorney Lawson had examined all documents relating to the <br />variance being requested and found them to be in order. The hear- <br />ing was a continuation of their previous petition seeking a variance <br />to present zoning code, Residential A, that would allow, in addi- <br />tion to Craft Classes in their home, retail sales of Craft supplies <br />as well as the sale of finished Craft and related products in the <br />basement of their residence at IO37 Delwood Dr. durlng daytime <br />hours and one evening per week° <br /> petitioners <br /> After hearing evidence presented by the ~X~W~#~ and her <br />partner, Portia Kourany, UNW questions by Board members were <br />answered, A motion to grant the retail Sales with the same restrict- <br />ions as applied to the granting of Craft Classes in Docket #4 1976, <br />was made by Steve Edwards and Seconded by Paul Walters. <br /> <br /> The vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> Steve Edwards, Raymond House and Paul Walters voted in favor <br />of granting the ~X~X~#X~X~#~ variance with restrictions. <br /> <br /> Warren Franklin voted against it because he felt it would <br />ultimately create on-street parking problems in an already congested <br />area. Ewea~her Stephens voted against it as a protest to the grant- <br />ing of Retaml Sales ~n a residential Area. <br /> <br /> The variance was granted, but solely to the present property <br />owners, James K. & Donna K. Ross. <br /> <br /> Docket #2 1977, was a request for a variance by Charles A. <br />& Maxine E. Griffith of 561Morningstar Dr. to build a carport <br />29o6m X 16e to be attached to their house to within 4' of the North <br />side of the lot in line with the present garage. <br /> <br /> Documents were examined by Attorney Lawson and determined to <br />be in order. <br /> <br /> A motion to grant the variance as requested was made by Steve <br />Edwards ~X~#~Z~N and seconded by Eweather Stephens. A favor- <br />able vote was unan~mouso <br /> <br /> Reorganization of the Board of Zoning Appeals was the next <br />item on the agenda. Following are the Officers for the year 1977: <br /> <br />Chairman: Steve Edwards <br />Vice Chairman: Paul Walters <br />Secretary: Eweather Stephens <br /> <br /> <br />
