135 <br />4-3-18 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 6:30 P. M. at the <br />Mooresville Government Center. <br />Council members present were: President Tom Warthen, Joe Beikman, Mark Mathis, and Dustin <br />Stanley. David Rogers was absent. Attorney Mel Daniel was present. <br />Council President Warthen gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stanley with a second by Councilman Beikman to approve minutes <br />from March 27, 2018. Motion carried 3-0-1. Councilman Mathis was absent at that meeting so he <br />abstained. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Beikman to approve extension <br />of employee grievance process. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Attorney Mel Daniel informed the council Benesch Law firm had merged with Taft Law Firm and files <br />needed moved from Benesch to Taft. Motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by <br />Councilman Stanley to approve the moving of files from Benesch to Taft. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Attorney Mel Daniel informed the council the Town had received three bids for paving but E & B Paving <br />had made an error in calculation so the council took the Wallace bid that was the second lowest. The <br />Wallace bid was not on the State List, so that left the Town with Grady Brothers bid and it is on the <br />approved State list. The state pays 75% and the Town pays 25%. A motion was made to approve Grady <br />Brothers Paving by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Beikman. Motion carried 4-0. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Stanley to approve purchase of <br />door lock software from Endeavor for $4199.73 and pay for from Fund 228, Court Fines in Trust. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Mathis wari&to present his idea for honoring Sammy Davis at a meeting. Council President <br />Warthen commented he thought all veterans'be honored at the same time. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stanley to table to the next meeting when all members are present, <br />Councilman Beikman gave a second and motion carried 4-0. <br />Public Comments: Dan Lundy asked who the point of contract was for flooding. People are to contact <br />Dave Moore, Street Superintendent, at 317-831-9547 or call 911. <br />Zachary Fromm.that lives on Washington Street flooded and was coming up thru the sewer drain. <br />Council President Warthen told him the Town had replaced several thousand feet of lines and the <br />manhole was brick and mortar. The Town is working on the purchase of a machine, new technology, to <br />make lines tight. The infrastructure was still good but old. We have to see if we want the machine on a <br />truck or trailer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Beikman with a second by Councilman Stanley to approve payment <br />of claims in amount of $485,401.84. Motion carried 4-0. <br />There being no further business for the council at this time a motion was made by Councilman Stanley <br />with a second by Councilman Mathis to adjourn the meeting. -. <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 6:30 P.
