Mooresville Metropolitan <br />Police Department <br />Board of Police Commissioners <br />Fred Settle <br />Ernie Wilson <br />Danny Lundy <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on October 17, 2019. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Fred Settle, Danny Lundy, Ernie Wilson (via Telephone) <br />ALSO PRESENT: Charles Braun <br />Call to order at 6:00 PM. <br />Fred Settle made a motion to accept the minutes from the August 27th meeting. Danny Lundy <br />seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Fred Settle made a motion to accept the minutes from the August 15`h Executive meeting. Danny <br />Lundy seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Danny Lundy updated the Police Commission on the status of the hiring process for the Chief of <br />Police. Lundy advised that the HR firm had 9 applications and that they were going to whittle <br />those down to 4. Lundy also advised that the HR firm wants to set a time with the commission to <br />go over all the applicants. After speaking with all commissioners, the executive session will meet <br />on Wednesday, October 23`d at 4:00 PM to discuss the applicants. <br />Lt. Julian updated the Police Commission on the status of Probationary Vaughn. <br />Lt Julian updated the Police Commission on the status of Probationary Officers Leap & Martin, <br />who are both attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. <br />Lt. Julian provided the Police Commission with the stats from September. <br />Lt. Julian updated the Police Commission on the remaining applicants in the hiring process for <br />police officer. Lt Julian advised that he was hoping to get through the rest of the process and try <br />and fill the vacancies as soon as possible. <br />Lt Julian advised the Police Commission that he was receiving positive feedback from the public <br />regarding the press releases and other items that were being posted on Facebook. <br />Lt. Julian advised the Police Commission that he would like to temporarily suspend part of the <br />uniform policy in order to have a "No Shave November", where the officers would be allowed to <br />have facial hair once they made a donation to the charity of their choice. Lt Julian stated that in <br />Officer Hayden's case she would be allowed to wear a colored headband with a matching t -shirt. <br />
