Mooresville Metropolitan <br />Police Department <br />Board of Police Commissioners <br />Ernie Wilson <br />Fred Settle <br />Jennifer Kasper <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on November 19, 2020. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ernie Wilson, Jennifer Kasper <br />ALSO PRESENT: Chief Julian, Charles Braun, Ronald W Cooper <br />Call to order at 6:00 PM. <br />Ernie Wilson made a motion to accept the minutes from September. Jennifer Kasper seconded. <br />No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Ernie Wilson made a motion to accept the minutes from October. Jennifer Kasper seconded. No <br />discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Julian advised that he would like to change the current Reserve Police Officer policy. <br />Chief Julian discussed the possibility of changing the policy to require the reserve officers to put <br />in more hours than the current 16 hours that are mandatory. Chief Julian stated that he would like <br />to see the hours required to be 24 hours a month. Chief Julian also explained that there was no <br />listing of qualifications needed to be a reserve police officer. Chief Julian also requested that <br />there be a clause in the policy that would state that a retired Mooresville Police Officer can <br />become a reserve if he retired under good terms. There was some discussion. Comments were <br />made by Reserve Officer Ronald W. Cooper. The commissioners wished to review the policy <br />and discuss it further at the next meeting. <br />Chief Julian updated the Police Commission on the status of the hiring process. Chief Julian <br />stated that they would be hiring four (4) police officers. <br />Chief Julian presented the Police Commission with the stats from September and October. <br />Chief Julian stated that he would like to bring all the Police Department's firearms policies up to <br />date. Chief Julian presented the Police Commission with copies of the SOP's he would like to <br />see updated and the changes that he is proposing. <br />The Police Commission advised that there would not be a December meeting. <br />The next meeting will be held on January 21, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the Mooresville Police <br />Department. <br />
