MINUTES FOR THE MOORESVILLE PARI( & RECREATION DISTRICT BOARD <br />January 11, 2021 <br />The meeting called to order at 7:01 pm. Board members present were Mark Taylor, David Pearson, <br />Brian Wiser, Lynn Adams, Erin Bechtold, Supt. Brent Callahan. Asst. Supt. Kris Wilson, Office Mgr. Stacy <br />Freeman and Recreation Coordinator, Nick Millspaugh. Town Council Member present, Greg Swinney. <br />Board members not present, Danny Shaw and Perry King. <br />David Pearson nominated Brian Wiser for President, Mark Taylor for Vice President, and Danny Shaw <br />for Secretary. Motion made by Lynn Adams, second by Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />Minutes of December 14, 2020, approved as presented. Motion made by Mark Taylor, seconded by <br />David Pearson. Motion carried. <br />Nick Millspaugh was introduced to the Board as the new Recreation Coordinator. <br />Supt. Callahan opened with the Komets Soccer contract discussion. Komets contract is expiring <br />February 11, 2021. The Park will revise the agreement due to the Komet organization changes that <br />occurred in 2020. At the February meeting, a revised contract will be presented. <br />The Non -Reverting, Grant, and Donation Funds need to have money appropriated to spend out of <br />those accounts, per order of the State Board of Accounts. The funds appropriated in Grant Fund is $ <br />1,082.97, Donation Fund is $83,828.99, Non -Reverting Operating Fund is $424,288.33, and Non - <br />Reverting Capital is $550,221.79. Motion made to appropriate the amounts stated for the 2021 <br />budget year in each of the funds by Mark Taylor, seconded by David Pearson. Motion carried. <br />Assistant Superintendent Wilson reports there are three RECO new hires. She asked the Board to <br />approve the new hires (Faith Stout, Cayden Bradley, Kiley Craig). Motion to approve the January new <br />hires. A motion was made by Erin Bechtold, seconded by Mark Taylor. Motion carried. <br />President Brian Wiser presented a couple of donations accepted in the Park Office. One gift was from <br />American Water Company and the second donation was in the Memory of Jenny Steffy. <br />Asst. Superintendent Wilson talks about the history of the grant fund. The Board permitted to deplete <br />the grant fund. <br />Asst. Superintendent Wilson reports the Summer of 2021 will be running as usual. Summer <br />employment will be a challenge with our current pay scale. <br />Asst. Superintendent projected the 2021 Park Board meeting dates. The only date, not the second <br />Monday, will be October due to Columbus Day. The December meeting will be at 6 pm, to follow up <br />with a Christmas Party. <br />Supt. Callahan informs the Board that the playground tile at Pioneer Park will need to be replaced in <br />2021. <br />
