MINUTES FOR THE MOORESVILLE PARK & RECREATION DISTRICT BOARD <br />April 12, 2021 <br />The meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Board members present were Mark Taylor, David Pearson, <br />Brian Wiser, Lynn Adams, Erin Bechtold, Danny Shaw, and Perry King. Supt. Brent Callahan. Asst. Supt. <br />Kris Wilson, Office Mgr. Stacy Freeman. <br />Minutes of March 8, 2021, approved as written. Motion made by Lynn Adams, seconded by David <br />Pearson. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Callahan opened with the updates on the Park. Storybook Trail should be installed by Memorial <br />Day. Aquatic Center is being prepped for Summer. The slide will be gel coated by the end of April, <br />and water will be in the pool by May 4. <br />Restrooms are open to the public; drinking fountains will remain closed. <br />President Brian Wiser reported that the women's league agreed to the negotiated price. Women's <br />Soccer League will use the Park June — August. <br />President Brian Wiser updated the Board on the Summer Concert Series. The Park is working together <br />and in contact with Black Dog Brewery and Cedar Creek on the details and necessary <br />permits/insurance. <br />"Asst. Superintendent Wilson presented two requests for facility use. First, YMCA Barbra B Jordan 5K <br />on Wednesday, August 25 at 6 pm. They requested to use Pioneer Park and to waive the special event <br />fee. Motion to approve YMCA 5k requests on August 25. The motion was made by Danny Shaw, <br />seconded by Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />The second facility request is from Northwood Elementary. Northwood would like to use the Park <br />(Shelter 2) for a music program on May 4 or 6. Motion to approve the NW Music Program. The <br />motion was made by David Pearson, seconded by Danny Shaw Motion carried. <br />Asst. Superintendent updated the Board on Summer Registration. Lifeguards are in short supply. The <br />Park will be offing a lifeguard class starting on May 4. The cost is $175. Asst. Superintendent Wilson <br />asked the Board to reimburse the $175 for any lifeguard we should hire from that class. Motion to use <br />refund lifeguarding certification fees. The motion was made by Mark Taylor, seconded by David <br />Pearson. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Callahan updated the Board status of playground tiles. The playground tiles are pushed back to <br />the 3rd week in May. <br />Supt. Callahan informed the Board that the Park would be changing pool chemical suppliers from <br />Univar to Water Solutions Unlimited. Water Solutions is a local company and will save the Park several <br />thousand dollars in operational costs. <br />
