MINUTES FOR THE MOORESVILLE PARK & RECREATION DISTRICT BOARD <br />July 12, 2021 <br />The meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Board members present were Mark Taylor, David Pearson, <br />Brian Wiser, Lynn Adams, Erin Bechtold, Danny Shaw, and Perry King. Supt. Brent Callahan., Asst. Supt. <br />Kris Wilson and Office Mgr. Stacy Freeman. <br />Minutes of June 15, 2021, approved as written. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by Lynn <br />Adams. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Callahan updated the Board on old business. Cornhole boards will be delivered in 5-6 weeks. <br />Cornhole will be placed at OTP. The Maintenance Depart, with the help of Community Corrections, <br />installed the playground tile. <br />President Brian Wiser informed the Board that RD Productions had a meeting and set dates for the <br />2022 concert series (Fridays @ 7 pm: May 20, June 3, June 17, July 8, July 22). RD Productions will be <br />taking over the entertainment for Independence Day (Monday, July 4 @6pm). Also, in 2022, a paid <br />concert will be offered (September 24). Discussion ensued. Motion to approve the Summer Concert <br />Series Dates. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. Motion to <br />approve the PAID Summer Concert on September 24. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by <br />Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Callahan informed the Board of a conversation with Shane Williams. Mr. Williams would like to <br />donate money to construct a privacy shield at Bicentennial Park in front of the restroom. <br />The Board received the Proposed 2022 Budget. Discussion ensued. Motion to approve the 2022 <br />Proposed Budget to be presented to the Town Council. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by <br />Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />The Park received a donation of 350 traffic cones from the Hamilton company and Mr. Joe Fox. Cones <br />will be spread between the Park, Police, and Street Department. Motion to approve donated traffic <br />cones. Motion made by Mark Taylor, seconded by Lynn Adams. Motion carried. <br />President Brian Wiser presented a request from the Girls Scouts to set up a registration tent in front of <br />Splash Pad on August 28 from Noon - 2. Motion to approve the Girls Scout to set up a tent. Motion <br />made by Mark Taylor, seconded by Danny Shaw. Motion carried. <br />RECO Registration began on July 6. The program is half full, under reduced capacity. Hiring is <br />underway. <br />il Supt. Callahan reports that the railroad company will remove the logjam at the creek. <br />A discussion ensued from a letter written by a resident that disagrees with alcohol at our concert <br />series and the lack of handicap parking. <br />
