MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021 6:OOpm <br />Mooresville Government Center <br />Commission Members present: Dustin Stanley, Dana Heidenreich, Brian Culp, Ryan Taylor and Virginia Perry. <br />School representative Dr. Larry Moore was also present. Redevelopment Commission Attorney Adam <br />Steuerwald was present. Project Manager Chelsey Manns was in attendance. <br />Commissioner Stanley called the meeting to order. <br />Minutes: Minutes were presented from the Aug. 5 executive session. Commissioner Perry made the motion to <br />approve the minutes. Commissioner Heidenreich seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. Minutes were <br />presented from the Aug. 5 Public Meeting. Commissioner Heidenreich made the motion to approve the minutes. <br />Commissioner Taylor seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />Financials: Financials were provided by the Clerk -Treasurer's office. Commissioner Culp made the motion to <br />approve the financials as presented. Commissioner Perry seconded the motion, which carried 4-0. <br />Mooresville Business Center Update: All work was expected to be complete in September. <br />High Street/SR 42: No specific update <br />Potential future projects: Dr. Moore: Did not contemplate future projects <br />Commissioner Taylor: Lighting downtown <br />Commissioner Heidenreich: A building for small businesses at Maple Lane and Washington St; Mixed use <br />buildings and townhomes; trail to connect parks <br />Commissioner Culp: walkability to Flagstaff, crossing to Southbridge, Make Main St. match Indiana St, another <br />shell building, corridor up west side of Flagstaff to Ind. 42 <br />Commissioner Perry: Fix building damaged by tornado, develop area at Maple Lane and Washington St. <br />Commissioner Stanley: Has approached private investors who have expressed interest in helping with certain <br />projects. <br />New Business: One bid was presented to bush hog. It was from MH Properties for $6,260. Commissioner Culp <br />made the motion to approved the bid. Commissioner Perry seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />Legal/Managerial update: Continue to work with Banning Engineering to finish water project connecting Polley <br />property to water. <br />Review of Claims: The claims were presented in the amount of $15,312.79. Commissioner Culp made the <br />motion to approve the claims as presented. Commissioner Taylor seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />Indiana Street project: Commissioner Perry shared a drawing prepared by Banning Engineering detailing a plan <br />to improve Indiana Street. Board came to consensus that Project Manager Manns should write a letter stating <br />commission's support of Indiana Street project in regards to a grant. <br />
