MINUTES FOR THE MOORESVILLE PARK & RECREATION DISTRICT BOARD <br />October 18, 2021 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. Board members present were Mark Taylor, <br />Brian Wiser, Lynn Adams, Erin Bechtold, Matt Saner, Danny Shaw, and David Pearson. <br />Supt. Brent Callahan., Asst. Supt. Kris Wilson and Office Mgr. Stacy Freeman. <br />Minutes of September 13, 2021, approved as written. Motion made by David Pearson, <br />seconded by Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />Park Board Member Matt Saner is stepping up as the School Board Representative, <br />replacing Perry King. <br />Asst. Superintendent updated the Board on the status of the Halloween Hike. Volunteers <br />are plentiful. Donations have been received, and scenes are being painted. The Park will <br />be ready for the Halloween Hike on October 30. <br />President Brian Wiser asked the Board for nomination of an interim Park <br />Superintendent; a Motion was made to make Kris Wilson the acting Superintendent. <br />Motion made by Lynn Adams, second by Erin Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />Farmhouse Market/Tatooligans did not submit a special request to approve a movie <br />night in November to the Park Board. Per initially discussed with Town Council. <br />Brent Callahan updated the Park Board on the status of the 2022 Fireworks. With the <br />economy and the shipping issues, planning will need to start immediately. <br />Asst. Supt. Wilson informed the Board of a filming request to use the stage in <br />Bicentennial Park. November 5 would be the filming, not a public performance. Census <br />is it is a public park and open to the public. There are no conflicts with the park <br />schedule. <br />Popular Park programs are being thought over for 2022; with programs in Mooresville <br />Schools and Covid still being an issue, programs might look slightly different. <br />Superintendent, Brent Callahan asked for an emergency trail repair to the Northside of <br />the bridge. The cost will be approximately $7000. Motion to make the emergency trail <br />repair. Motion made by Mark Taylor, seconded by Danny Shaw, Motion Carried <br />
