MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT <br />COMMISSION MINUTES <br />Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 <br />Mooresville Government Center <br />Commission Members present Brian Culp, Ryan Taylor, Dustin Stanley, Erin Pipkin and Dana Heidenreich. School <br />representative Jake Allen and Project Manager Chelsey Manns and Redevelopment were also present. <br />Commission Attorney Adam Steuerwald was absent. <br />Commissioner Stanley called the meeting to order. <br />Minutes: Minutes were presented from the Aug. 4 Executive session. Commissioner Heidenreich made a motion <br />to approve the minutes. Commissioner Pipkin seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />Minutes were presented from the Aug. 4 public meeting. Commissioner Pipkin made a motion to approve the <br />minutes. Commissioner Heidenreich seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />Financials: Financials were provided by the Clerk -Treasurer's office. Commissioner Culp made the motion to <br />approve the financials as presented. Commissioner Taylor seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />Mooresville Business Center Update: Project Manager Manns reported that surveys are needed to plat lot 3, <br />which is the 16.9 acres north of the shell building as well as the 56 acres west of the creek. Commissioner Culp <br />made a motion for Project Manager Manns to get quotes from Banning Engineering to plat lot 3 and from Alta <br />Surveys to survey lot 3. Commissioner Pipkin seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />High Street/SR 42 Signal Pole Discussion: Decorative signal poles for the intersection of High and Main streets is <br />in the hands of the town and INDOT. <br />Brownfield Assessment grant: Nothing new to report. <br />Main Street Subcommittee: Conversation with Sharon Taylor of Mooresville 200 confirmed that construction of <br />a Main Street project could impact some events they are planning. Council member Greg Swinney, who is on the <br />subcommittee, said he would bring up the subject to the town council. <br />Police Department fence project: Chief Kerry Buckner came to the commission to renew the request by his <br />department for funding for a fence. The fence would give officers a place to park while doing reports as well as <br />keep them safer when exiting their vehicles, he said, Chief Buckner addressed zoning concerns and flood zone <br />concerns, saying it won't be an impound lot. Commissioner Culp made a motion to ask Commission Attorney <br />Steuerwald to amend the plan to include paying for the fence for the police department. Commissioner <br />Heidenreich seconded the motion, which passed 5-0. <br />New Business: None <br />Legal/Managerial update: Nothing to report. <br />Review of Claims: The claims were presented in the amount of $19,059.96. Commissioner Culp made the <br />motion to approve the claims as presented. Commissioner Taylor seconded the motion, which carried 5-0. <br />
