Mooresville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners Police Department Ernie Wilson Fred Settle Christopher Hobbick MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES These are the minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission, held at the Mooresville Police Department on October 19, 2022. Members Present: Ernie Wilson, Christopher Hobbick, and Fred Settle The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. Ernie Wilson made a motion to accept the minutes from September 15th meeting. Chris Hobbick seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. No old business from the Police Commission. Chief Buckner and Chris Hobbick spoke briefly about the SOP covering promotions. No new business from the Police Commission. Chief Buckner advised that over the course of the last month a promotional process was held for the open Lieutenant and Sergeant positions. Chief Buckner advised that the candidate for the lieutenant position was Sergeant Daniel Enkhom. Chief Buckner recommended that Sergeant Enkhom be promoted to lieutenant. Ernie Wilson made a motion to accept the recommendation. Chris Hobbick seconded. Motion passed unanimously. Chief Buckner advised that he now has two open sergeant positions. Chief Bucker stated that a promotional process was completed that included written test and oral interview board. Chief Buckner advised that the four applicants came within a point or point and half of each other. Chief Bucker recommended that Officer Brock Chipman be promoted to Sergeant. Chief Buckner then recommended Officer Josh Pope be promoted to Sergeant. Chief Buckner explained the process completed for the promotions. Ernie Wilson made a motion to accept the recommendation that Officer Brock Chipman be promoted to Sergeant. Fred Settle seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Ernie Wilson made a motion to accept the recommendation that Officer Josh Pope be promoted to Sergeant. Fred Settle seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. Chief Buckner updated the police commission on the current officer process The meeting ended at that time.
