MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES <br />Thursday, <br />Monday, February 12, 2024 11:OOam <br />Mooresville Government Center <br />Commission Members present: Brian Culp, Ryan Taylor, Greg Swinney and Dana Heidenreich were <br />present. Erin Pipkin was absent. School representative Dr. Jake Allen was absent. Project Manager <br />Chelsey Manns was present. Redevelopment Commission Attorney Adam Steuerwald was absent. <br />Commissioner Taylor called the meeting to order and followed with an invocation. <br />Awarding of Bid — SR67 & Merriman Road Signal: <br />Manns provided a letter from V3 Engineers stating the two bids had been receipted from the following <br />contractors: <br />® Midwestern Electric ($437,000) <br />® Morphey Construction ($355,000) <br />The bid documents that had been provided to V3 by Midwstern Electric and Morphey Construction were <br />reviewed for completeness as required in the bid manual. The apparent low bid was submitted by <br />Morphey Construction. V3 recommended the Commission award the contract for construction of the <br />Merriman Road at SR67 and Merriman Road to Morphey Construction in the amount of $355,000. <br />Commissioner Swinney asked if V3 indicated why there was such a discrepancy in the two bids. Manns <br />stated there was no reason given. Commissioner Culp made the motion to award the SR67 and <br />Merriman Road project to Morphey Construction in the amount of $355,000 and to name Commissioner <br />Taylor signatory. Commissioner Swinney seconded the motion, which carried 4-0. <br />The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 6:OOpm. <br />Commissioner Culp made the motion to adjourn.
