Board of Zoning Appeals <br />4.11.24 Minutes <br />Members present: Tammy VanHook, Charles McGuire, Jennifer Meador, Neal <br />Allman. Attorney Ashley Ulbricht arrived shortly after the meeting began and <br />Robert Alumbaugh was absent. <br />Neal Allman called the meeting to order shortly after 6:00pm, due to weather and <br />traffic, he began the meeting by calling for a motion on the previous minutes: <br />Jennifer Meador made the motion to accept the minutes as presented, motion was <br />seconded by Charles McGuire and accepted by 4-0 vote. <br />Neal Allman moved file #24-129 to the end of the agenda as no applicants were <br />present when the file was called for presentation. <br />24-130 Sam and Julie Pugh presented variance requests of: front yard set back <br />from 40 ft to 16 ft / rear yard setback from 30 ft to 10 ft / side yard setback from 40 <br />ft to S (corner lot) and minimum lot size from 10,000 sq ft to 6400 sq ft. The <br />Pugh's presented the requests for the allowance of a single-family dwelling, they <br />will be looking to downsize in the future and would like to build home in an area <br />with similar "foot prints", they presented possible plans and pictures of what the <br />home could look like. Neal Allman called for questions; when none were asked by <br />board or audience, he then called for a motion. Tammy VanHook made a motion to <br />approve the variances as requested, motion was seconded by Jennifer Meador and <br />passed with a 4-0 vote. <br />24-131 Attorney Bill Niemier presented a variance of use for the allowance of dog <br />boarding and outside area for the Hound Lounge, owner Heather Schmitt, at 605 St <br />Rd 67 in Southbridge Crossing. Neal Allman called for questions: Tammy <br />VanHook asked if there would be 24-hour staffing and the expected maximum <br />number of overnight dogs; no camera monitoring with property owners living in <br />close proximity, dogs will be housed separately over night when staff are not there <br />with a maximum of 20 overnight. Jennifer Meador questioned the outdoor space <br />while Charles McGuire and Neal Allman confirmed proximity to food outlets. <br />When no further questions or comments were made Neal Allman called for a <br />motion: Charles McGuire made a motion to approve, seconded by Tammy <br />VanHook and passed 4-0 <br />Neal Allman re -called for the presentation of 24-129; no applicant was present. <br />Tammy VanHook indicated during the meeting that neighboring property and <br />publication notifications had not been received and reminded the members this <br />application had already been moved from the March meeting to April due to lack <br />of meeting proper notification deadlines previously.
