<br />MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINU1ES <br />THURSDAY, JUNE 10,2004 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. at the <br />Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Board members present were: Chairman, Alan Kramer, Chris Crouch, and Donald Barry. <br />Board members absent were Jon Swisher and Mike Young. Town attorney Tim Currens <br />was also absent. <br /> <br />A motion to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2004, meeting, as typed, was made by <br />Donald Barry, second by Chris Crouch. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />The first item on the agenda was Jim Rose for BP Amoco, asking for a variance for moving <br />an existing sign. Mr. Rose explained that the State is widening the intersection at State Road <br />67 and Bridge Street, making it necessary to move the existing signs. The sign will be moved <br />to the south about 40 feet and be about 6 feet from the finished curb. After looking over the plans <br />the <br />considerations for variance from development standards were read. With no further questions <br />from the Board or the floor, a motion to approve the petition for the variance was made by Chris <br />Crouch second by Donald Barry. The motion carried 3-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />The second item for the board was Dale Coffey, for Ed Bartley and Jim Remster asking for a <br />variance for an advertising structure at High Street and State Road 67. This variance was tabled <br />from the May meeting. The variance is for use and from development standards. Mr. Coffey <br />explained; that the structure would be of steel poles, holding four signs. The structure will be <br />35 feet high with signs being IOx6x36 feet. The structure would also be closer then 500 feet <br />away from the intersection of State Roadsl44 and 67. Also the structure will be more 500 feet <br />from Town Park property. A notice was sent to the park and a second letter was delivered by <br />Ross Holloway to Brent Callahan, June 10, 2004, to remind Brent oftonights meeting. <br />the other point was a use variance because of the property being zoned B-2. Donald Barry <br />asked Mr. Coffey what the answer from the State was concerning the less than 500 feet from <br />The Highway. Mr. Coffey stated that the State has given them a permit for the structure being <br />built where proposed. Donald Barry asked Mr. Coffey if the Park Board had given a waiver, <br />Mr. Coffey stated that they had not. Mr. Coffey asked the Board to grant the variance with <br />stipulation that a waiver would be received from theJÆaJï!I,J¡0M.dü~~ng that the Board did not <br />want to influence another board a motion was made~tê 6ì'ß'í'et1ñsrë(1"uest until the July meeting. <br />Second by Chris Crouch. Motion carried 3-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway of Holloway Engineering presented a variance for height for an 80 foot <br />communication tower; for Karen and Gary Rogers of 1 West Main Street. Eric Rogers was also <br />present for the meeting. Mr. Holloway had pass outs of pictures of the building, showing the <br />tower that is there as well as other antennas and utility poles in the area. Mr. Holloway, after <br />explaining the pictures asked the board to grant a variance to add 40 feet to the existing tower, <br />
