<br />'-- <br /> <br />MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />APRIL23,1998 7:00PM <br /> <br />The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session on Thursday, April 23,1998 <br />at 7:00 PM. at he Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Commission members present were: President Joel Beebe, Secretary Vern Kimmel, <br />Bill Abbott, Tim Bennett, Mike Young, Steve Campbell and Andy Pygman. Those absent <br />were Charles McGuire and John Ehrhart. Town Attorney, Tim Currens was also present. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />Ross Holloway representing Jeremy Hopkins in the request for Special Exception <br />to mine gravel and sand on White Lick Road. Mr Holloway explained the there would be <br />no screening on the site, the product will be trucked to the existing screening site on <br />267. Also answering concerns from the Board of Zoning Appeals hearing that this project <br />would only help the wells in the area and would be helpful in the area if flooding was a <br />problem. Mr. Holloway did not feel that this project would interfere with the Master Plan <br />of the Town. Motion made by Commissioner Abbott that this Special Exception would <br />be with in the Town's Master Plan second by Commissioner Cambell. Motion carried 7-0. <br /> <br />Arvin and M~~::ented by Ross Holloway came to the Commission requesting a rezone <br />from Agriculture to B-2. The area of the rezone would be an approximate II acre area <br />Mr Holloway feels this would serve as a buffer between the residental and industral zoning. <br />The following people spoke in opposition of the rezone, Howard Johnson 7630 E Co. RD. <br />James Smith, 7590 E Co Rd., JeffHollors, 529 W. Co.Rd.,and Wayne Majors 8930 <br />S. St.Rd. 267. The concerns of these people were of traffic, saftey and reduction of their <br />property value. Mr Johnson brought up that according to the map submitted the line <br />was less than 500 feet from County Line Road. Mr. Holloway stated the they would <br />amend the rezone to an approximate 7 acres and with the 500 feet from Co Line Road. <br />Commissioner Abbott entertain a motion to approve the rezone with the 7 acrea change <br />and the 500 feet from Co. Line Road the motion died for lack of a second. At this time <br />Mr Holloway agreed to an amendment to a B-1 Zoning. Commissioner Abbot motion <br />to approve the rezone with the amendments: Reduced to Approximately 7 acres 500 feet <br />from Co Line Road and to a B-1 Zoning second came from Commissioner Cambell the <br />Motion carried 6-1 with a vote opposed coming from President Beebe. <br /> <br />The rezone will go before the Town Council at a later time. <br /> <br />Chairman Beebe asked if we had heard anything from the attorney on St Rd. 144. <br />Attorney Currens stated he had heard and something was in the works. <br /> <br />Commissioner Abbott asked about the progress on the matter of a business at <br />545 N. Indiana Street. It was stated by Erma Holmes from The Clerks office that <br />the filing had been that day. <br />
