<br />." <br /> <br />'-- <br /> <br />MOORESVllLE PLAN COMMISSION <br />MlÌ'<'UTES <br />MARCH 26, 1991> 7:00 PM <br />MOORESVllLE TO\VN HALL <br /> <br />The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session on Thursday, March 26, 1998, at 7:00 P. <br />M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Commission members present were: President Joel Beebe, Secretary Vern Kimmel, Bill Abbott, <br />Charles McGuire, Tim Bennett, Mike Young, John Ehrhart, Steve Campbell, and Andy Pygman. <br />No members were absent. Town Attorney, Tim Currens was also present. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McGuire, second by Commissioner Ehrhart to approve the <br />minutes of the February 26, 1998 meeting to include a correction on Page 2 to read 9-0 instead of <br />4-0. Motion carned unanimoW!ly. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway of Holloway & Assoc. presented the Jim Remster rezone from Agriculture to R- <br />IA. This property is 2.007 acres located on Indianapolis Road across from Crestwood Drive. The <br />Town Council had given approval for sewer hook-on and annexation. The property is contiguous. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Abbott, second by Commissioner McGuire to reccommend to <br />_, the Town Council to rezone the Remster property on Indianapolis Road from Agriculture to R-IA. <br />Motion carried 9-0. <br /> <br />Next, Ross Holloway presented the Remster request for a 3 Lot !vfinor Plat on this same property <br />on Indianapolis Road. The owner had previously agreed to a 20 foot wide stone drive. <br />Commissioner Abbott suggested the configuration of the lots be changed. Commissioner McGuire <br />also stated he wanted a different lot configuration due to homes looking onto back yards. <br />Commissioncr Abbott statcd as a matter of policy the Commission should discourage this type of <br />Development, when there are alternatives. The property owner was not receptive to changing the <br />configuration of the lots. The following people spoke in opposition to the Minor Plat: Steve <br />Remster, 561 Indianapolis Road, Larry Rhodes, 465 Indianapolis Road, Floyd Kays, 517 <br />Indianapolis Road, Donna Taft, 608 Indianapolis Road, Robert May, 622 Indianapolis Road, and <br />Melissa Horton, 95 Brentwood Drive. Rick Remster informed the Commission that is this 3 Lot <br />l\Iinor Plat did not get approved, they would sue the Town of Mooresville. Motion was made by <br />Commissioner McGuire, second by Commissioner Pygman to deny the 3 Lot !vfinor Plat due to <br />the Lot Configuration ca1L~ing homes to face back yards. Motion carried 9-0. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway then presented the Hopkins request for one driveway onto Bridge Street across <br />from the Marsh proposed driveway. This property is now in Arlen and Mary Hopkins name, not <br />in Hopkins, Stafford, and Caperton. This would be a driveway to the Motel and some other lots, <br />the streets would be dedicated to the Town ofMooresville. Statement of Development an <br />amendment to POO, phases 4-7 lots, some lots may be combined. Motion was made by <br />Commissioner Abbott, second by Commissioner Kimmel to approve the Amendment to the <br />_ existing POD. Motion carned 9-0. <br /> <br />Building Inspector Joe Beikman reported checking on the report of a business being operated at <br />
