<br />MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 1997, <br />MOORESVILLE TOWN HALL <br /> <br />THE MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION MET IN A REGULAR SCHEDULED <br />MEETING ON THURSDAY, MARCH 27, 1997, AT 7:00 P. M. AT THE <br />MOORESVILLE TOWN HALL. <br /> <br />COMMISSION MEMBERS PRESENT WERE JOEL BEEBE, BILL ABBOTT, <br />CHARLES MCGUIRE, MIKE YOUNG, JOHN EHRHART, STEVE CAMPBELL, <br />AND VERN KIMMEL. TIM CUMMINS AND TIM BENNETT WERE ABSENT. <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER EHRHART, SECOND BY <br />COMMISSIONER CAMPBELL TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY <br />27, 1997 MEETING. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> <br />A PETITION FOR A REZONE FROM B-3 TO 1-2 FOR PROPERTY AT 235 <br />NORTH INDIANAPOLIS ROAD FOR MOTORAMA WAS PRESENTED TO THE <br />COMMISSION. COMMISSIONER ABBOTT QUESTIONED WHY THE PEOPLE <br />WERE ASKING FOR 1-2 INSTEAD OF 1-1, OR A SPECIAL EXCEPTION <br />TO B-3. THE PETITIONER DECIDED TO ASK FOR AN 1-1. <br /> <br />'--- <br /> <br />MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER MCGUIRE, SECOND BY <br />COMMISSIONER KIMMEL TO RECOMMEND TO THE TOWN COUNCIL TO <br />REZONE THE PROPERTY TO 1-1 FROM B-3 IN THE AMENDED PETITION. <br />MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. <br /> <br />ROSS HOLLOWAY OF HOLLOWAY AND ASSOCIATES PRESENTED A <br />PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR KARRINGTON SECTION 2. LOTS 123-127 DO <br />NOT MEET WIDTH TO DEPTH SO THIS HAS TO GO TO THE BOARD OF <br />ZONING APPEALS FOR A VARIANCE. ALSO THE TECH COMMITTEE <br />WANTS ASSURANCE THERE IS A 35' DRAINAGE EASEMENT ON EAST <br />SIDE AND A 30' DRAINAGE EASEMENT ON NORTH END OF LOT #51. <br />CONSTRUCTION PRINTS ARE NEEDED , AVAILABILITY FEES PAID, <br />STREET NAMES ON PLAT, AND BONDING OF INFRASTRUCTURE. <br /> <br />A GROUP OF CITIZENS FROM CRAFTON MEADOWS WERE THERE TO <br />OPPOSE THE APPROVAL OF THE PRELIMINARY PLAT. AFTER MUCH <br />DISCUSSION A MOTION WAS MADE BY COMMISSIONER ABBOTT, SECOND <br />BY COMMISSIONER MCGUIRE TO APPROVE THE PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR <br />KARRINGTON SECTION 2 SUBJECT TO ALL OF THE TECH COMMITTEE'S <br />CONTINGENCIES BEING MET. MOTION CARRIED 5-0 WITH <br />COMMISSIONER YOUNG AND COMMISSIONER EHRHART ABSTAINING. <br /> <br />---- <br /> <br />MR. GADDIS, 55 SOUTH PARK STREET APPEARED BEFORE THE <br />COMMISSION QUESTIONING 1-1 ZONING. HIS COMPLAINTS WERE THAT <br />G. R. WOOD, MAJESTIC BLOCK CO., AND THE TOWN OF MOORESVILLE <br />WERE USING THE SURROUNDING PROPERTY AS A DUMP. TOWN <br />ATTORNEY TIM CURRENS STATED THE PLAN COMMISSION WOULD <br />INVESTIGATE ANY WRITTEN LETTER OF COMPLAINT. <br /> <br />BUILDING INSPECTOR JOE BEIKMAN REPORTED TWENTY-FIVE (25) <br />
