· MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION The Mooresville Plan Commission met at its regular meeting place, the Town Hall, at 7:30 p.m. on January 26, 1989. Present were Board Members Joel Beebe, Steve Edwards, Warren Franklin, William Abbott, David Barry, Shirley Welker, Signe Nicholson, Robert Tucker, and Vernon Kimmel. Present also was the Board's Attorney, Timothy C. Currens, and Building Inspector Joe Beikman. Chairman Kimmel found that there was a quorum present and proceeded to the approval of the minutes of the prior meeting. The first item on the agenda for the meeting was the reorganization for 1989. The Chair then opened the meeting for nominations for Chairman. Dave Barry nominated Signe Nicholson and Steve Edwards nominated Joel Beebe. Signe advised that she would not want the responsibility of chairmanship this year due to the responsibilities related to the new Master Land Use Plan. The nominations were then closed and Joel Beebe was unanimously elected Chairman of the Plan Commission for the year 1989. The Board thanked Vernon Kimmel, the Chairman for 1988, for his leadership as he turned the gavel over to Joel Beebe. The Board then proceeded to nomination for Vice-Chairperson with Steve Edwards nominating Signe Nicholson. This was seconded by William Abbott and unanimously carried. The Chairman then entertained motions for Secretary with Dave Barry nominating Robert Tucker. This was seconded and unanimously carried. The next item on the agenda concerned the Board's nomination for the Plan Commission. Steve Edwards nominated Vernon Kimmel; this was seconded by Dave Barry and unanimously carried. Under old business, the Plan Commission discussed the unsafe building violation at 2 West Main. Building Inspector Beikman advised that there had been very little work done in the past two months and that the building was .till a fire hazard, since the drywall has not been put in.
