<br />· <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />The Mooresville Plan Commission met at its regular meeting place, the <br /> <br />Town Hall, at 7:30 p.m. on January 26, 1989. Present were Board Members Joel <br /> <br />Beebe, Steve Edwards, Warren Franklin, William Abbott, David Barry, Shirley <br /> <br />Welker, Signe Nicholson, Robert Tucker, and Vernon Kimmel. Present also was <br /> <br />the Board's Attorney, Timothy C. Currens, and Building Inspector Joe Beikman. <br /> <br />Chairman Kimmel found that there was a quorum present and proceeded to the <br /> <br />approval of the minutes of the prior meeting. The first item on the agenda <br /> <br />for the meeting was the reorganization for 1989. The Chair then opened the <br /> <br />meeting for nominations for Chairman. Dave Barry nominated Signe Nicholson <br /> <br />and Steve Edwards nominated Joel Beebe. Signe advised that she would not <br /> <br />want the responsibility of chairmanship this year due to the responsibilities <br /> <br />related to the new Master Land Use Plan. The nominations were then closed <br /> <br />and Joel Beebe was unanimously elected Chairman of the Plan Commission for <br /> <br />the year 1989. The Board thanked Vernon Kimmel, the Chairman for 1988, for <br /> <br />his leadership as he turned the gavel over to Joel Beebe. <br /> <br />The Board then proceeded to nomination for Vice-Chairperson with Steve <br /> <br />Edwards nominating Signe Nicholson. This was seconded by William Abbott and <br /> <br />unanimously carried. The Chairman then entertained motions for Secretary with <br /> <br />Dave Barry nominating Robert Tucker. This was seconded and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />The next item on the agenda concerned the Board's nomination for the Plan <br /> <br />Commission. Steve Edwards nominated Vernon Kimmel; this was seconded by Dave <br /> <br />Barry and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />Under old business, the Plan Commission discussed the unsafe building <br /> <br />violation at 2 West Main. Building Inspector Beikman advised that there had <br /> <br />been very little work done in the past two months and that the building was <br /> <br />.till a fire hazard, since the drywall has not been put in.
