BOARD OF ZONTNG APPEALS <br />March 18,1998 <br /> <br />The Town of Moorcsvillc Board of Zoning Appeals met for their regular meeting on <br />March 18,1998 at 7:00 p.m. Board of Zoning Appeals members present was Michael <br />Young, ,,klan Kramer, Brent Plunkett. Vcrn Kimmel and Don Bart3'. Tim Currens Town <br />AItorney was also present for the meeting. <br /> <br />Chairman, Alan Kramer advised tile citizens in attendance, that the variance to build a <br />double at 20 E south street by Nelda XVhitney would not be heard at this time. <br /> <br />A motion to approve file February 18,1998 meeting was made by Veto Kimmel wifl~ a <br />second fi'om Brent Plunkett. The motion was carded 5-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />Robert Matt came to the Board with a Set Back variance request to build a storage building <br />at 248 E. Washington Street. After discussion Facts and Findings were read. A motion was <br />made by Don Barry to approve a variance for set by from 16 feet to 12 feet. Brent Plunkett <br />seconded thc motion. The motion carried 5-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />Ross ltolloway representing Bo&Il and Hopkins for a variance for a sign on land that is <br />zoned for Agriculture, and a variance for the size of the sign. The sign will be 800 square <br />feet ami 35 feet in height. After reading of Facts and Findings, Don Barry motioned to <br />approve thc variances asked for ~,'ilh the second coming from Brent Plunkett. The motion <br />carded 5-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />Ross }Iolloway representing Jeremy Hopkins in requesting a Special Exception to mine <br />gravel on Wlfite Lick Road, on land zoned for Agriculture. There were several concerns <br />Ii'om citizcns in that arca, thc concerns wcrc of flooding, traffic and wells. Nh- Holloway <br />said that file mining would not harm the wells or cause lloodingo and as tbr traffic the <br />trucks would be using Grecncastle Road and not \,X/trite Like Road. Mr Holloway said <br />that there would not be a large stock piling and the screening would be done at another <br />site. ~Lrter the discussion Chairman Al Kramer reported Mr Hopkins would need to go <br />to thc Plan Commission. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway representing Steve Overton in asking for a Set Back Variance on Old St. <br />Road 67 tbr the exLsfing btfildings [doubles]. Chahman .Alan Kramer read the Facts and <br />Findings. A motion was made by Mike Young to approve the variance motion seconded <br />by Don Bar~¥ the motion carried 5-0 v'dth none opposed. <br /> <br />Ross I Iolloway representing Don France to request a Set Back Variance for an existing <br />btdlding at 31 Westem Road. After discussion and concerns, Vern Kimmel motioned <br />to approve the variance with the second from Brent Plunkett the motion carded 5-0 <br />with none opposed. <br /> <br />With no fm'lher business before the board a motion to adjourn came from Don Barry and <br />seconded by Vern Kimmel, motion carried 5-0 with none opposed <br /> <br /> <br />
