MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS <br /> FEBRUARY 19, 1998 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresville Board of Metropolitan Police <br /> Commissioners met February 19, 1998 with Board membegs Dr. <br /> Dennis Knierim, Tom Warthen and John Burnside being present <br /> along with legal council Timothy C. Currens. The meeting was <br /> preceded with the pledge of allegiance, and then called to <br /> order by Dr. Dennis Knierim. <br /> <br /> Dr. Knierim introduced John Burnside, who has been <br /> appointed by the Town Council to fill the Commissioner <br /> vacancy. He will be sworn in soon. <br /> <br /> Tom Warthen made motion and was seconded by Dr. Knierim <br /> to approved the minutes of the last meeting. <br /> <br /> Under Old Business from Chief Viles. an update was given <br />on the new officers. Dotson and Schuck have begun the solo <br />phase. Collins is still in the Academy with four weeks left. <br />The new cars are out on the street. Anderson did not complete <br />the Dare training. The Captains position will wait until all <br />of the new officers are out on the street. Chief Viles <br />advised he still had many questions concerning the position. <br /> <br /> From the Commission under Old Business. Dr. Knierim <br />advised that the Commission is supportive of the Councils <br />push for neatness of the Town. Chief Viles advised that any <br />ordinance violations would be acted upon. Dr. Knieriin stated <br />that he thouaht the Womens Safety Pro°ram was an exellent <br />program, and thanked all for their help. <br /> <br /> <br />
