C MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE <br /> COMMISSIONERS <br /> JANUARY 18, 2001 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresville Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners met January <br /> 18, 2001, with Board Members Dr. Dennis Knierim, Dean Kays, and Charles Berwick in <br /> Attendance. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Knierim. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Dean Kays and seconded by Charles Berwick to approve the <br /> minutes of the December 21st meeting. <br /> <br /> The was no old business to address. <br /> <br /> Under New Business was discussion of the S. O.P. for in-car cameras. Charles Berwick <br /> requested Article V, section A, #2 and section M be amended, changing the retention <br /> period of the tapes from six months to twelve months. <br /> Dean Kays made motion to accept $.0. P. 8.07 with that amendment, seconded by <br /> Charles Berwick; the motion was unanimously passed. <br /> <br /> Dr. Knierim requested that for the record, when Captain Allen was appointed to <br /> Captain last year, he was also promoted to the permanent rank of Lieutenant. <br /> <br /> Chief Files welcomed Dean Kays back for another three years, after his re-appointment <br />C to the Commission. <br /> <br /> Chief Files informed the Commission that he has been working with the school <br /> administration on the Community-Police Partnership. <br /> <br /> Charles Berwick expressed concerned on the number of hit & run accidents last year. <br /> Chief Files advised that many of them would have been vehicles hit in parking lots, but he <br /> would research the numbers. <br /> <br /> The next regular meeting ~ll be February 15, 2001.
