296 <br /> <br /> January 2, 1996 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session Tuesday, <br /> January 2, 1996 at the Mooresville Town Hall at 7:30 p. m. <br /> Council members present were William Wright, Andy Pygman, Toby <br /> Dolen, James Hensley, and Mark Mathis. No members were absent. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman James Hensley, second by Councilman <br /> Dolen to nominate Mark Mathis for Town Council President for the <br /> year 1996. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman <br /> Hensley to nominate Andy Pygman for Town Council Vice President. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright <br /> to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br /> The appointment of council members to each department will be <br /> made at a future Town Council meeting. <br /> Councilman Pygman and Councilman Hensley reported they each had <br /> received a resume for the Economic Director position. The council <br /> will do research on the need for an Economic Director. In the <br /> interim phone calls and inquiries concerning economic development will <br /> be logged by the Clerk Treasurer's office and forwarded to a council <br /> member. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman pygman,second by Councilman Wright <br /> to obtain appraisals and a study on the worth of the old Post Office <br /> building. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Councilman President Mathis asked Department Heads to include <br /> a written report, following an outline drafted by the council, in the <br /> packets mailed to the council members before each scheduled meeting. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright <br /> to have town decals put on all Town of Mooresville motorized vehicles. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley <br /> to obtain three bids on the cost of renting and maintaining uniforms <br /> with the employee's name and the Town of Mooresville on the uniforms. <br /> These uniforms would be in lieu of the $350 clothing allowance for <br /> each employee and subject to the approval of the State Board of Accounts. <br /> If the cost is prohibitive, the bids will be for shirts only. Motion <br /> carried with Councilman Pygman abstaining. <br /> An Executive Session for discussion of Personnel was scheduled for <br /> Monday, January 8, 1996,at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen,second by Councilman Pygman <br /> to approve the bills and claims. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Mooresville <br /> Town Council at this time, motion to adjourn was made by Councilman <br /> Dolen,second by Councilman Wright.
