8O8

The next regular scheduled meeting will be in the
Mooresville Town Hall on Monday, March 18, 1996 at 7:30 p.m.

ATTEST:

Clerk-Treasurer

March 18, 1996

The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session
on Monday, March 18, 1996 at the Mooresville Town Hall at
7:30 p. m.

Council members present were Mark Mathis, Toby Dolen,
Andy Pygman, and Bill Wright. Councilman Hensley was absent.
Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman
Wright to approve the amended minutes of the March 4, 1996
meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

Town Council President Mark Mathis stated that previously
an eye-care benefit program had been made available to full-
time town employees. The program had not been renewed last
summer in 1995. The cost would be a Twenty dollar ($20.00)
yearly premium for each full-time employee. After a dis- ~-~
cussion by the Town Council, a motion was made by Councilman
Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to renew the eye-care
benefit for each full-time employee with the Town of Mooresville
paying the Twenty dollar ($20.00) yearly premium for each
full-time employee. Motion carried unanimously.

Councilman Pygman led a discussion concerning the
dedication of a plaque at the Waste Water Treatment Plant for
the deceased Steve 0rme, former Superintendent of the plant.
Mr. 0rme passed away in 1995. A resolution had been passed
by the previous Town Council to dedicate the plaque.
Councilman Pygman will contact HNTB to see what has been done
concerning the matter and report at the next Town Council
meeting.

Councilman Pygman also addressed the Council concerning
the possibility of a parking ordinance. Town attorney Tim
Currens stated a traffic study would have to be done first in
order to do an ordinance and there is already a State statute
on curbs being painted fifteen (15) feet from the intersection.
Attorney Currens said enforcement is the question. To enforce
the statute we need curbs painted and signage and the police
enforce. Town Council President Mark Mathis will work with
Joe Beikman (Street Superintendent) and Tim Viles (Police ~
Chief) to see where it would be possible to paint curbs and
put signage because some of the problem areas are State
property.

Town attorney Tim Currens presented the ordinance concern-
ing signs nailed on utility poles for the Council to review.
A motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman
Pygman to approve the first reading of Ordinance ~3, 1996.
Motion carried unanimously.
